Packaging Error For Dirge in Botcon Set.

It appears that quite a few of the Botcon sets (loose and boxed) are coming with packaging errors when it comes to Dirge. Some are coming with 2 left missile launchers, and some are coming with 2 right missile launchers, and some aren’t even affected at all. This happened to Fender Bender and myself as well as a few other Seibertronians we met up with, we both had to trade out with others to get the missile launchers to be the right way. If you haven’t checked your set yet, make sure you do so.

Ahh man, I was afraid of this! I even specifically asked the girl that called me to confirm my non-attendee Iacon package what I do *if* my boxset comes with defects. After all the manufacturing errors that plagued Ramjet, I was pretty certain the boxset figures could or would also have assembly problems, so I wanted to know how or if they would deal with should it happen to Thrust, Dirge or Thundercracker. She said they'd take care of it, so it'll be interesting to know how they handle it since it evidenytially has happened.

Well for those of us not at the con who'll be getting our sets sent out next month it shouldn't be too hard to arrange some swaps where needed. It's only a small part so it's not going to cost the earth in postage and despite the constant bitching and moaning and complaining and apparently the occaisional death threat we're still essentially good people, kind people, nice people who like to look out for each other. Sure, it's a bit of a pain but it's not the end of the world. Now who's going to be the first to bitch about QC on top end TF product? Come on you know you want to.

It's 1.30 in the morning here, I'm tired and going to bed before my ramblings get any more disjointed.

Considering the price point, errors like that are outlandish.

I hope the set I have coming doesn't have the error. Although I'm sure Fun Publications and Hasbro will accomodate those who didn't attend and have the opportunity to swap out the parts by getting the correct parts out.

I thought the packaging error would be that they accidentally gave Dirge the correct wings he should've had in the first place. Silly me...

d'oh, I knew I should've checked mine out better, I was just so surprised that I got in on time to get one that I didn't pull em out of the box.

Oh well, I'll find someone to trade with tomorrow.

Mine was fine. Though they were put on with the fins pointing in instead of out like the rest, but that's nothing. I was certain I would get a set with wrong missle launchers or wrong hands (like the defect that plagued many Classics Ramjets). Glad I was wrong.

Ol Bender man, you can't catch a break lately.

But hay man make it work for ya, find a chick with the lancher you need, trade up, get a #, and your at a hotel...

the rest writes it's self!

***On a side note, I didn't get to BotCon this year, but I do work for som GM Dealers who finaly got some free movie swag. They were more than happy to just give it to me than assemble and hang it all themselves.
I'll send pics soon***

I discovered that. I just took it back to Angie and she switched it out with another set that had two of the other side launcher. No problem.

This happened at OTFCC in 2003 with the Sunstreaker exclusive too with the missle launchers getting screwed up. Mine was ok, but I know others who weren't so lucky.

Wasn't last years set missing some sorta pin in some of the sets too? Ah Quality Control at it's best and at 250 bucks a set too.

As for correcting the mail-in sets, just send back your defective Dirge and they'll replace it with a figure of equal value... Or more likely one of the Ramjets returned from lacking retail sales.

The set costs $179, Cybertooth. The rest is the cost of the attending the convention.
