Lego Power Mech.
http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=31007-1A taste of their own medicine!
(I say this as someone who likes Kre-O and Lego).

Nice... has a "Springer" feel to it.

I like that. The head reminds me of Bulkhead.

Lego, now doing Springer better than Hasbro.

They've been doing those sets with enough pieces to make three different things for a while now. Giant robots aren't a new thing either. That is remarkably similar to Springer, though.

FRIGHTENINGLY Springer-like. If it was a car as the official third mode instead of a truck, I'd definitely be calling "RIPOFF!" on that one.

Ha, yes! First thing I thought when I saw the box art for that new 2013 Lego set yesterday.
I'm on quite a few Lego forums (Eurobricks, Brickset, FBTB), but I thought everyone on those forums would probably not even know who Springer is, for me to post anything about it!

This one is more of a stretch, but Optimus Prime, Gears, and Smokescreen?

Bulk-springer or is it Springer-head? Either way this upcoming
Lego Creator set seems suspiciously similar to the Transformers characters Bulkhead in robot mode and Springer in vehicle modes. Is this a case of Lego ripping off Kre-o that ripped off Lego? Take a look below.

Aww, this is lEgo's usual pattern, but I think if any of the, coulda pulLed pff transforming brick builds, it woulda been Lego...

I'd definitely get this over any Kre-o set, you just can't beat LEGO-thats why every block product is made to be compatible with them. I always hoped Hasbro would partner up with LEGO... but they like making their own money. Just borrow some Kre-o

panels and build Springer

I wouldn't really consider Kre-O a ripoff of LEGO. It's in the same vein as Mega Bloks and K'Nex's building blocks. It's basically LEGO, but they get different licenses and have some different parts. On the other hand, this is definitely a suspicious-looking LEGO set.

Although I do prefer the quality of Lego bricks over Kre-o pieces, I have a little hint for Lego's marketing team:
No Kreons, no sale.

from the looks of it it doesnt transform so im out. Yeah im sure the lego ones will be better but if i had to chose id go kreo since they include actual transformer heads. But until either line make the "figures" transform i could care less.

I'm a collector of LEGO and as is probably obvious these don't transform. The LEGO Creator line includes a bunch of pieces and instructions to build three models from them (similar to Kre-O), the emphasis from the Creator toyline is creativity and classic building techniques. Interesting how Energon Bulkhead was a Springer homage and now LEGO makes this. Personally I think LEGO is tipping their hat to Hasbro or something. Also this set will surely have rubber tires unlike some of the Kre-O sets

I thought they would make Transformers Lego's right after the Slizer figure line.
Which lateron became Robo Riders, and then Bionicle and now Hero Factory.
Slizers did kind of transform to fit their space ships AND THEY DIDN'T NEED RE ASSEMBLY TO TRANSFORM. This what they're doing now is kind of silly.

if LEGO is intentionally ripping of Kreo stuff, I'm going to guess that they didn't see how well those sets sold before doing it.

Lego ripping off Kre-O is like the pot calling the kettle black, despite the basic building brick design being in Public Domain.
Seriously though, so it has a few similarities, and already you guys are yelling rip-off? I never heard you guys complain about certain 3rd Party toys....

The Throwbots folded in half and tucked their arms away. Not much of a transformation. The...Vahki? Whatever their names were, the drones from Bionicle 2004, they had a bit more transformation. They turned from biped to quadruped by bending backwards and flipping their arms and heads around. LEGO has never been much for engineering actual transformations, since the whole point of LEGO is to build and rebuild in different ways. That said, a non-partforming brickformer (from anybody) would be awesome.

KreO, Lego... whatever.
When is a building block company going to do them so they don't look like ass?

hey people why so many complains?
if lego wants to make Kre-o like sets, let them do it, since as you said, kre-o is itself a rippof of lego
and about the quality of lego or kre-o
i think they are similar, i had some years ago some lego parts that broke just 2 montsh after, and i havent hear anything bad about kre-o.
and whata bout the kreons? just because they are g1? thats it?
c'mon if you really whant a transformable robot the build it(is possible in both, lego and kreo)
and if you dont wanna to spend your time building it, just buy a regular transformer figure and thats it

Ah, the circle of life; the great rip-off circle of Kre-o/Lego-Lego/Kre-o-Transformers/Diaclone is now complete!

Not the first Lego Creator robot set... doubt its the last either. Will buy this one if I happen to see it. The only reason I have bought any Kreo stuff is the Kreons, must have the 3 seekers in everyway possible lol The sets themselves are pretty lame if following the normal instructions. Plenty of tuts out there to make Starscream, Megs, and OP sets better.
