Reminds me of G1 Optimus all over again. Iirc, there's a product similar to those felt pads. Kind of thick transparent plastic that sticks but not too strong to the surface to give your appliance a bit of space between the surface. Only, it's slightly concave leading to stability issues for SW.

Found it! Its called "Magic and Mounts", a product of Miller Studios. Clear plastic pads, the largest being that of a nickel. I made a mistake about it causing stability issues....its flat and clear/see thru with an adhesive on the opposite end.

The risk is that once its stuck, well its stuck which may cause the paint to chip but with it on, the paint won't chip due to wear and tear.

Silly question - are the bottom of his feet actually painted? I just checked mine, and they're die-cast but not convinced they are painted.

is there some new proccess that makes diecast colors i dont know about? or is it a simple fact that for diecast to have color (or a few in this case) it either has to be dyed or painted.

Sorry for the necro but I'll just piggy back my images here with a little input on how the official licensed Ocean MP Soundwave decals works out.

The decals are both satisfying and frustrating. The picture guide that came initially with the first edition release were somewhat helpful. but the set I got was a bit of a touch and go quality that I was forced to buy a second set.

Image

Tape timer and "eject". For those who own the hasbro version, the decal sheet comes with red "Destron" optics.

Image

The most frustratting decals to apply. The red and yellow patterns were :BOOM: to attach.

Record and stop

Another frustrating piece. my first set got torn because it won't properly peel off
This part also has the red yellow yellow patterns only. I added the black highlights from my scrap decals.

So Soundwave was a SONY product ? I wonder if SONY knows about this? The "stereo microcassette recorder" comes in white and black fonts

Image

"Walkman" and Dolby Sound fonts

Volume and speed control

AC in. On the opposite foor, you have an earphone jack symbol

Other Walk Man features

The set also comes with white font Destron decals, two of which small enough for Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw's head (unfortunately I'm having a hard time magnifying the shots)

One weird thing is the set has some extra "details" which I don't know where to fit in.
