Hi guys, does anyone have this problem with their protoform Prime?

Hi guys, I'm new here but I'm not new to Transformers. I used to collect some G1 and Beast Wars ages ago and when this movie came out I decided to get back into it for a new hobby. I've decided to build a collection of 2007 Autobots (that includes the figures that aren't in the movie) for the sake of story canon consistency and finance. Also most Autobots are cool.
So far I have a Voyager Blackout, my only Decepticon, Ironhide, the redecos of Arcee and Skyblast, and Protoform Prime. I want to get the Leader version of Prime too, but design-wise I really don't think Protoform Prime can be surpassed. His original Cybertronian look is a joy to behold.
I'm not sure if it's my toy alone that has this problem of loose joints around his legs. The sockets around his legs are very flexible and loose, allowing Prime to do heaps of cool poses, but the slightest nudge also moves his legs. The movement is so smooth it's a bit disconcerting. I was wondering if anyone has the same thing with their figure. IF this is an actual oddity then I want to fix it and would like some tips on how to do it.

Some Proto Prime toys have loose joints, some don't. It's Hasbro's quality control, or perhaps lack of it that is the problem. Mine are tight, and I don't pose him much so they stay that way.

Any way to fix these kinds of loose joints?

No Due To The Crap Quality Plastic. The Plastic Dosent Weigh It down.

Welcome to Seibertron! We're all nuts but most of us are still good guys.
If it's the ball joints that are loose, it's really easy to fix. Just pop them off and put a thin (and I mean THIN) layer of Crazy Glue on the balls to make them a little thicker. Let dry and pop the legs back on and flex them out a bit. That should tighten them right up.

Thanks for the advice. I heard that one of these should do the job:
Clearcoat
clear nail polish
future floor finish
superglue
And the Crazy Glue you suggested. Which one is cheapest or safest fix? I am very suspicious of the superglue option because... well, I have bad experience with superglue.

My bad, I just found out it's the same as superglue. Apologies.

I'd say go with clear nail polish all around the balljoint.
A small drop of crazy glue on the ball joint will eventually damage the inside of the socket in the long run.

clear nail polish has neer steered me wrong, and I had a lot of old BW stuff with severely worn joints...

Welcome Raymond101 to the forums, enjoy your stay here
About your Protoform Optimus Prime, well I have that toy too, I have the same problem except I think the Ball Joints are a little bit bigger. Some are made bigger and smaller, so you can do what some others have said and fix it, or just leave it the way it is like I have done. Tell you honestly I am not that bothered

Hey, well I just really like my Protoform Prime. In terms of design I probably will like him more than Leader Prime even though I haven't gotten Leader Prime yet (I want Leader Prime for my collection and the fun, but I look on Protoform Prime with more respect because it is his original Cybertronian form, according to this 2007 continuity).
Arrgh some say nail polish, some say superglue... which one?? :p I'm going out this afternoon to do shopping!!

nail polish is a little easier to work with and a little safer for the plastic.

Oh I see. Where can we get nail polish, I've never used it before.

Just at Target or Kmart?

Clear nail polish is available pretty much anywhere. I've even seen it in gas stations on occasion. At Walmart, Target, etc jsut look in the cosmetics aisle.

Hehe it'll be funny when I ask for nail polish. "It's to improve my action figure!"
