Generations cliff jumper.

I just picked this guy up. I dont understand why he is under the generations/classics banner though. He is much more aiken to the t.f. prime cliff. Wish he would have looked more retro.
I also wish they would have used a new mold for a different character. One that they havnt made yet ya know? Since they only give us a limited number of figures with a new mold how do you guys feel about cliff being one of those new mold figures?
Anyway I got him and he is kinda growing on me but he desperately needs a bumble bee of the same mold to go with him.
I myself have the classics bumble bee and wanted to get the classics cliff to go with him and my collection but the ebay price for cliff is too outrageous so I waited. Now they bring out this "classics" cliff jumper so I dont know weather to hold out for a bumble bee like the new cliff mold or continue to persue the old classics cliff. Anyone know if were getting a bumble bee of that mold?
Finally he is pretty cheaply made. The grill part with the horns has broken off of two figures already. I had to return him twice and was granted a third and final replacement figure with the instructions not to break this one cuz there wont be a fourth. LOL.
I wasnt rough with him though. I guess there is just a glitch it that mold?
Anyone else have that problem with new cliff?
See ya! :)

Generations does not automatically equate with classics. While we got and probably will be getting more classics style figures under the banner, Generations covers a other eras as well such as War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron.

The figure you are reffering to looks more akin to the prime line is because it uses the TF Prime First Edition Cliffjumper mold (not a brand new mold). It is part of the line known as GDO Generations which originally was Asia exclusive but is sold in TRU in the states. The GDO deluxe and voyager figures are repaints with new heads while the scouts and legends are just repaints.

oh nice answer! youre full of info!
I thought generations was strictly a classics line. Guess the word generations should have clued me otherwise hu?
Im glad to hear hasbro didnt waste a new mold on cliff. Now its free to do a character that hasnt been done before or done well. I saw a figure named springer on the bottom of cliffs box labled "also available" that looked awefull. nothing like springer. I hope he isnt a new mold. I guess Im just ruined for springer since the 3rd party did the defender figure to near perfection.
I really wish hasbro would reclaim their product. It just seems the 3rd party companies have done so many figures justice that hasbro wont do. Springer/defender, arcee/feminine warrior, insecticons, the god like make toy constructicons, magnus/city commander, I saw an awesome quint and also an iron hide and ratchet figure that Im not sure saw a release yet. All those were done great!
Thats not to say hasbro hasnt got a few gems of their own. Spec opps jazz, classics voyager prime/megs and classics hound come to mind.
Yeah hasbro has some fantastic figures but they are letting the 3rd party people out perform them in alot of areas. I wish hasbro would offer us something of that quality at a reasonable price.
Anyway do you now if there was a bumble bee mold to match cliff jumper? Im looking to get him for my collection to go with cliff.
Thanks bro!

None of the GDO figures are new molds, they are either strictly repaints or have new heads and/or weapons. Springer for example uses the HFTD Tomahawk mold and comes with a new head and sword.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Bumblebee to match Cliffy.

As said before, all of the GDO released are repaints and the Deluxes and Voyagers have new heads. Here's the total rundown:

Legends
Motorbreath (G1 Motormaster): Reveal the Shield Optimus Prime
Thundercracker: Reveal the Shield Starscream
Hoist: Reveal the Shield Trailcutter (G1 Trailbreaker)
Bluestreak: Reveal the Shield Prowl

Scout
Laserbeak: Revenge of the Fallen Skystalker
Sandstorm: Revenge of the Fallen Dune Runner
Dead End (Or G1 Wildrider): Revenge of the Fallen Brakedown
Brawl: 2010 Breacher

Deluxe (new heads)
Springer: 2010 Tomahawk
Swerve: Generations Sergeant Kup
Cliffjumper: Prime: First Edition Cliffjumper
Wheelie: Reveal the Shield Special Ops Jazz

Voyager (new heads)
Megatron: Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon
Powerdive: 2010 Highbrow
Hot Spot: Universe Inferno
Brawn (canceled): Prime: First Edition Bulkhead

Generations is supposed to span multiple series, but the main focus had always been Generation 1. With Series 2 however, which the GDO releases do not fall under, we go more into the video games (Fall of Cybertron) and possibly the IDW comics.

Your only hope is to customise one yourself.
1- Buy another GDO Gen. Cliffy.
2- Buy a junker Classic Bee or a WFC Bee. For the head.
3- Swap Cliffy and Bee's heads.
4- Repaint.

There you go!

Good luck.

Not to be a 'cock' but you seem to know enough about 3rd party stuff, but no idea about official stuff.

Not to be a "cock" but whats your point? I have not been into the game all that long and mostly scan the net and ebay to see pics of figures I want.
I dont really know allot about what has or hasnt been released or what may or may not be released. I certainly cannot keep up with all the different figures with a small tweak here and there put under all the different banners.Dose this forum not exist to, among other things, answer questions just like the ones Ive asked here?
As for the third party comment I have noticed that in my opinion most of the real classics looking figures have all been third party releases. Not sure what your beef is here pal >:oP

To jelzee gold rabbit. There was a brawn figure slated for release but canceled? That stinks! I have always wanted a brawn. Is there at least a pic for the fig that almost was? :-(

Thank ya! It is difficult to keep track of all the banners hasbro puts over all the different and sometimes the very same figures that have been done over and over, retooled, recolored etc. :D
