when you watch the cartoon show, all 3 of these characters can cross their arms... but on any toy made to transform this way can never reach their hands past the long front end of the car. I really hope that Takara has found a way to make the chest piece collapse in on itself a bit or we are going to have 3 masterpiece figures that have the poseability of a brick. as a fine example, look at alternity prime and megatron... the stubby arms or too long chest will ruin this figure.

If they can make megatron's crotch disappear we
Shouldn't have any dramas
Having said that, I see your point. They might have to reengineer the arms or chest to accomodate a
more streamlined look, while maintaining the G1 aesthetics

I see your point as well, but all characters could cross their arms. Not just Prowl and co.

That isn't a fear, that's resigning yourself to being realistic. Here's the thing. Did you expect Masterpiece Soundwave to mass-shift? Would you expect Masterpiece combiners to mass-shift? Of course not right - because that's what we accept as being "cartoon physics". It's the same deal here.

Here's the thing - not even Masterpiece Sideswipe is built with a pectoral shoulder joint and he didn't have a protruding chest to contend with. As such and considering the crazy amount of engineering needed, I highly doubt you'll see that with Prowl and the other Datsuns. This is one that you'll unfortunately have to chalk up to "cartoon physics" in terms of toy realities.

This request is where the line between animation and reality clash. Things like crossing arms in front of a large chest just can't be done on a toy unless TakaraTomy work out a way for the back half to fold in leaving only a little of the car hood pointing out. There are some things we just have to resign as not possible and not get upset that they aren't done.

Look at this image of Starscream:

Here, his hips are almost vertical and his upper body is horizontal. No toy can do that while the whole upper body is in contact with the hips. It's one of the times we just have to give the toy designers a break. Articulation can't be that good.
