so who ever said this was a FOC Metroplex was confused
because it says generations on the package and therefore
is an updated G1 Metroplex which i could tell just by the way it looked anyway
which is fine with me Metroplex is still Metroplex It would have been fine as a FOC Metroplex too but it clearly is not, and its 24 inches tall
so does it really matter which one it is...no, because its 24 inches tall!
that is enough for me

While it isn't FOC Metroplex, being a Generations toy doesn't make it automatically be a G1 character, as all the of the Generations figures from 2012 to today (excluding the GDO figures) have been FOC characters.

What makes this be a version of G1 Metroplex is not that it's a Generations figure, but that it's packing lack the FOC logo, its bio pins him down as being IDW G1 Metroplex, and his box art show other IDW G1 toy characters interacting with him.

If this did turn out to be FOC Metroplex, it wouldn't be of his Cybertronian body as seen in the game, but ratehr it would be a possible (and currently hypothetical) Earth Mode body for him. But alas, such isn't the case.

i never said it was G1 i said updated G1 as all the other generations toys are and your just repeating what i just said besides mis-quoting me about it being a G1 character which i did not so why you even made the comment is stupid

"it wouldn't be of his Cybertronian body as seen in the game, but ratehr it would be a possible (and currently hypothetical) Earth Mode body"........ uh yeah right just like the other FOC characters which were sold as FOC and look like they were in the game, this is not....get a clue!

When you said that some thought it might be FOC Metroplex instead of G1 Metroplex, I took that as you referring to the character rather than the design. It's an easy mistake to make considering how they're two separate individuals, thus hardly making it "stupid".

You clearly did not understand what I wrote (though, I'll admit the typos didn't help).

Look at this Metroplex toy and then look at the FOC Generations toys. The latter all resemble their game designs and so represent their pre-Earth Cybertronian bodies. BUT, unlike the former, Metroplex's toy does NOT resemble the game design of FOC Metroplex, so if this new Metroplex toy were meant to be the FOC character, the toy's design would represent some form of his other than his Cybertronian body seen in the game, thus making the body this toy has possibly represent an Earth body for him IF the toy were to be for that character.

But it is not that character, so your rebuttal was pointless.

you take a lot of things people say the wrong way

what rebuttal?, i understood you clearly you take what i write and twist it around to make me sound like i dont know what i am talking about when you dont know what your talking about first you say "so if this new Metroplex toy were meant to be the FOC character" then you say "But it is not that character" i dont think you understand your self

I shudder to imagine the cost of Takara's eventual release. Only because I will likely hold out for that. I am excited to see what else we get from the mold too. I wonder if some chest and head remolding could manage a decent enough Fortress Maximus too. Exciting times!

Why would I say the same about the other FOC characters?

1. Punctuation, please and thank you.
2. I was speaking hypothetically, hence my use of the word "if".

So the latest MP OP was $100-135 but this is only going to be $125 despite being much larger? Does that worry anyone else?

MP Optimus was made out of far more expensive materials and was super crazily complex and detailed in its engineering. Metroplex will likely be of the more typical level of engineering just at a large scale. A 2-foot tall MP-like figure would likely never get approved for children.

AS MPs go the engineering wasn't that complex. I'm not sure what materials you're referring to, outside of a few chrome and clear plastic bits it's 90% the same plastic as most other TFs.

Metroplex is also going to have much higher packaging and shipping costs.

You're right that it's not FOC Metroplex, but you're incorrect to say "It says Generations on the package and therefore is an updated G1 Metroplex." There are lots of figures (including the entire WFC and FOC lines) that say Generations on the package but are NOT updated G1 figures.

Me oh my...

The waist is a bit skinny, and I do appreciate criticisms people are making about possible articulation issues (it'd be a shame if you couldn't put him in some awesome dramatic poses) but good golly those textures are stunning.

And that head... *drools*

He's right insofar as it says "Generations" and not "Generations: Fall of Cybertron." Therefore, Ultra Markus was right to begin with. ;)

However, the WFC figures and Classics-style Generations figures used the same Generations logo.

Not to mention that this or any of the new Generations figures coming after the Wreckers do not say "Generations: IDW", yet they're all very certainly the IDW characters.

Immediately, two thoughts come to mind:
  1. I shudder at the thought of how big a Trypticon (or Fort Max) would be.
  2. Reprolabels, this is your mission, should you choose to accept it: Make NEW bridge/command center window decals with the following: G1 Ultra Magnus, G1 Scamper, G1 Springer, G1 Arcee and Daniel Witwicky. (G1 Silverbolt and Hot Spot would also make choice alternates.)
