With reguards to the new voyager figures..

Does anyone else but me prefer they had made them deluxe size?
Springer, blitz wing, astro train and blaster are all figures Ive wanted badly for my collection, but they will not look right in voyager size.
Im going to get them anyway ofcourse. Theyre too sweet not to but I just wish theyd offer a deluxe size as well.
Now grimlock needed to be voyager. They should have made magnus, prime and starscream voyagers and kept springer, blitzwing, blaster and astro train deluxe.
I also wish theyd come out with a full set of voyager seekers. I saw a foc skywarp voyager pic and hope that they will go ahead and release a screamer and cracker as well. Perhaps even give us the cone heads. That would be great!
Ofcourse thats just my opinion.
I realize Im more or less nit picking. Im stoked that were getting these classics figures. I just wish my collection looked more size accurate.
Take care!! :D

SW/Blaster and Blaster are voyagers by necessity for the gimmick.
The FoC seeker mold is deluxe size.
Triple changers are hard enough to do, so no, I don't think a deluxe scale version would be feasible, for Blitzwing at least. We've seen proof that a deluxe-scale Springer can work fine...but only because Springer's car mode has always basically been a helicopter with four wheels.
We've had deluxe-scale triple changers before...and they're questionable at best. Lookin' at you, Octane. Astrotrain's train mode came out a bit derpy as well.

I think you have to forgo the norm when it comes to FOC. Honestly I have a hard time believing that Shockwave is that small, Soundwave overtowers Ultra Magnus and what not, but I just push that..... I believe button. I have given up on "scale" and am content if they are "decent" representations of the character now a days.

But I hear (and agree with) what your saying, I just have to take what they offer us....or nothing.

I kinda liked octane. I really liked astrotrain. :-(
I hear you though about the tripple changers. I can see where it would be alot easier to make them a bit larger.
blaster and soundwave though I would have been glad to forgo a working gimic to have them delux if it would have gotten me a voyager foc magnus and screamer.

Its mostly about the kids though. I get it.I just cant help but crave accurate scale.

LOL That has to be a hard button to push my friend. Ive been trying to come to terms with the fluctuating scale issues but its hard.
Ive gotta hold out hope for a delux blaster to go with my delux soundwave or ill be sick.
You cant have megatron going about in a shorter form then soundwave now and prime/magnus going around smaller than....well.....everyone if were talking foc prime LOL. Goodness its a mess yeah? #-o
gOODNESS

Have we gotten any pictures of FOC Astrotrain? Aside from the info a week or so ago that named Springer and Astrotrain....is Blitzwing taking Astrotrains' place now?

I havnt seen astrotrain yet but I saw blitzwing. He didnt have wings on his back though and I dont think I say the big ole cannon poking up from his back. Those two things are what really made blitzwing stand out to me.
I.D.K. If blitxy is replacing astrotrain though. Seems like they wouldnt have had time ti nix astrotrain and mold a new blitswing all in a few days though. Unless they are planning to release both and simply changed the order in which thet are to be released for some reason.
If I had to choose though Id pick blitzwing simply because I have a delux astrotrain already. ;)

Like the guy said, it doesn't really work as a deluxe. ;) At least not as well as it could.

I own that very astrotrain and love him. He looks like the G-1- toon did....well except for the color scheme. I could have gotten the purple and grey one for 150 but settled for the white one for 50.
I even like tankor/octane. Hes not as bad as everyone says IMO.
Having said that I suppose it would be easier to make them look better if they were voyager size, but Id think its easier to make any transformer if they are voyager size.

A voyager has a bigger budget, therefore it can have more plastic, more hinges, etc. in order to make the transformation, articulation, and overall final product better.

Specifically about Classics Astrotrain and Ocatane; let me preface it with this. They are by NO means bad. Far from it, they did a great job of updating the characters. However, being deluxe scale meant technical limitations. Octane has a bit of a funky robot mode, especially with the arms, and his plane mode has awkward proportions (tiiiiny wings for such a big plane!). I really like the rest of his robot mode and his truck mode though. Astrotrain's shuttle mode is solid, but the train is really gappy. The robot mode looks good for the most part, but he ends up with a nasty case of forearm kibble.

Yeah, these are fairly minor gripes, but my point is this: If they had been voyagers instead of deluxes, those issues probably wouldn't be there. Octane's arms would be better and he'd probably have a wider wingspan somehow. Astrotrain would likely have some hinging dedicated to better integrating that kibble and folding it away and there could be some small hinged or sliding panels to fill the gaps in the train, just as an example.

I agree for the most part but I think that octanes wings are that size because they fit his robot mode perfectly.
Of course It could be argued that were he a voyager they could have found a way to make his wings larger in plane mode and smaller for his bot mode.

Megs they can be had for much less! just don't pay the BIN ebay prices!!!

back on topic, I'll just take whatever Hasbro is kind enough to give us.. half of my classics shelves are completely out of scale by now anyway. as long as they look good. If you want scale by Masterpiece!

LOL My shelf is riddled with different sized robots that should be different sizes as well. Im trying to look past it and use my imagination but I just cant seem to give up the ghost.
Ive done a pretty good job of keeping my primary collection close to scale.
What you said about masterpieces is true. They are to scale so far and friggen jems every one Except for megs. This is blasphomy as he is far too important a figure to be standing on those feeble looking legs. I know the original figure looked that way, but I thought they were going with the toon look.
All they would have had to do was find a way to make the inside of the legs look like the outside and voila! Perfection!
Anyhow Id love to collect masterpiece , but my stores only order like one damn figure per release. It sucks. Id never get to it in time and that would mean the dreaded ebay.
If I were lucky enough to find them though I could never justify spending that kind of cash on them. I wonder how much the masterpieces are abroad if the delux figures are supposed to be around 40 dollars apiece?

Well put. I'm not saying these guys are bad, either. I do like them, but those too are the minor gripes I have that keep them from just being totally awesome.

I, too, think that the new guys should be voyager size for the same reasons. For the fact that they are triple changers, having multiple modes should place them at voyager class for transformation and articulation....my opinion, of course.

And poor MP Megs doesn't get no love. I, personally, love him. He's a great representation of the G1 counterpart, to me. Of course, I have minor gripes with him too, such as the legs, feet, and the fact his scope/cannon ways his arm down, but I still think he's awesome.

Oh really? LOL I didnt know anyone else hated his legs. To be honest I was expecting to get hammered for expressing distaste for a M.P. figure.
I think he looks awesome. I just hate his legs! If they had like taken.....how do I say this....like both right and left legs combined to make the gun handle, and made that whole piece his left leg and then did the same for his right leg and somehow made it work in with the gun transformation, Hed be perfect.
Hell even if they couldnt make it work with gun mode Id say people wouldnt mind if the pieces just came off and sat to the side not being involved in the transformation to the gun at all. I hope thgat made sense. ;)

Just chiming in...

I, too, would prefer a deluxe Springer and Blitzwing, both to conserve display space and my money.

Actually, I've had to pass on Soundwave and Blaster precisely because of the cost and size (although I might get them on sale). And while Grimlock works as a Voyager, I still have to hold out on account of the price.

The only voyager scale figures I own are Seaspray and Grapple, and I only have them because I found them for $9.99 each.

They should definitely be voyagers IMO, otherwise they'd just be too small to look right with the others.

Muti-form changers are practically self-parodying in terms of scale, so quite frankly I could care less as long as they look good.
