So that is what that artwork for the speculated "Voyager" Optimus Prime was. But seriously those PCC looking things look great. I'm speechless with how good most of this looks. I'm also relieved that Blitzwing didn't look like the mistransformed display model

The third parties threw down the gauntlet and Hasbro was quick to pick it up.
My to buy list:
Everything
...Huh, should pare that down.
Metroplex
Blitzwing
Springer
2 Each of Megatron and Optimus in their IDW forms (one to keep boxed for posterity)
Cyberverse Shockwave, Soundwave, and all of the announced Predacons
I've been buying all the BH figures by wave so far, and I suspect I'll do the same thing with the next round of deluxes. Not sure about that Voyager Grimwing yet, but the Predacons have really caught my interest so I'll probably buy him too.
Ultimate Predaking? Yes. Ultimate Optimus? Ehhhhhh.... nah.
And then there are those 3rd party Stunticons still to come...
I really didn't need that extra kidney anyway.

Bot Shots, Beast Hunters, & Cyberverse, Construct Bots - Pass...
IDW/FoC/ect. - hmmm, I'll need to dissect this one
~Trailbreaker & Blitzwing - Obligated purchase
~Springer - Not sure... already have Defender, but Primus does this one look great!
~Megatron & Bumblebee - only if I can manage, they are far from necessary and don't look that great
~Metroplex - only if I'm prepared to become a criminal to obtain it... which I'm not, so no
Oh, and to all those who were hopeful for that IDW Optimus mold...

sucks to be you!

i was gonna cave in and buy a 3rd party offering as they're hitting me where my collecting ambitions lie (ie g1) between the stunticons, aerialbots, predacons, broadside and the headmaster figures, they were definitely beckoning but hasbro with these announcemnts means i'll be a 3rd party virgin and collect official stuff only
my current want list: Fortress Maximus, Metroplex, springer, trailbreaker, blitzwing, orion pax, ultimate predaking, voyager shockwave, megatron, mp soundwave
and correct me if I'm wrong but this isn't the be all and end all.. they might still have other toys later in the year that they haven't announced yet..? who knows.. if they're ambitious enough and if metroplex is anything to go by we might one day see a decent galvatron.

In that you have not recognized the greatness that is Shockwave and pledged to function for him and him alone, I'd say... yes. Your choice to regard Shockwave with such uncertainty is hardly...
logical.

True that. I'll have to see how much of a part he plays in the show tho.

Well, you have nothing on me, so no reason to feel bad. Or feel good, IDK what best applies to this situation. The only thing in that gallery I want is Hun-Gurr. Anything else falls outside of my interest/budget intersection sweetspot. I am really looking forward to that one little critter, though, if that makes up for it.
The weapon he's got, is it made out of the same soft plastic as the Prime legions transparent weapons?

To be perfectly honest, I am a huge fan of increased diversity in the Transformers universe. After all, change is what the line is really all about, not just in robots and vehicles and beasts, but in stories and philosophies. This is partly why I have never understood the whole rehashing of old characters- particularly G1, which often seems to put me at odds with a number of transfans (especially in regards to the Masterpiece line). Most often, I want to see what they come up with next, want to see what the next ideation of Transformers will be. This "mythical" twist on Transformers is a HUGE change...we did have Beast Wars, but never before have we had a line of completely and utterly mythical creatures. I am LOVING it.
I have two upcoming job interviews, both of which will result in pay increases of 30% for me. I think I know where those pay increases are going and hope I get those jobs lest I have the need for a bankruptcy lawyer.
I know the Voyager Shockwave has gotten some slack for the armor, but honestly it's grown on me. I wish they had picked another color than red- a black or blood red would have been more impressive to the masses I think- but overall, it's a very nicely done figure.
Trailcutter is not bad. I was stunned to see the Orion Pax figure. That is definitely something that has never been done by Hasbro before. I am also pleased with the new Megatron and Bumblebee figs as I am a fan of the changes made to the characters by IDW.
Metroplex- what can you say? I will have him standing next to Fort giving him fist bumps.
By far, the most impressive of these figures to me is the dragons. Predaking is breathtaking. Huge, articulated, great coloring in black with good highlights in a darker orange than the Voyager figure which gives him a more threatening and sinister look. Outstanding! Even the Supreme Optimus figure looks very imposing (that sword is BADASS). I think I am gonna have a good Transformers year.

Hasbro has recently done lots of IMO crappy stuff (or even if they have done something nice, it has been hard to get US only release), but that Metroplex is actually rather nice. That waist is a bit too slim, but it is not a dealbreaker. Now don't tell me that this is some TRU US limited version as well.
Also Megatron and Orion Pax looks quite nice and worth getting.
I don't really know what that BH commander(?) Shockwave is, but it is also interesting.

Can't stop staring at the Trailcutter pic. It's actually going to happen.

Metroplex...

Not just a Metroplex, but a Metroplex that can carry my G1 Metroplex..

Man, look at this glorious bastard.
No need for Fortmax now.

Still, I<m calling that Metroplex will be some EXCLUSIVE BULLSHIT that only a select few will be able to buy for a reasonable price.

I kind of agree about Fort Max... considering dropping that now... don't really see the point of it with Metroplex.
Also I love Hasbro everything Hasbro is giving us this year. Lets hope no one calls them Hasblow at least for a little while.

What's the best way to beat 3rd parties? Make great products that fans want!
I tip my hat to you Hasbro, well played.
