FoC Ultra Magnus' Sword

Recently picked up this figure and while I think the sword he comes with is pretty cool I can't help but wonder why Hasbro included it (and to some extent the "buildable" weapons for the other figures in this wave but I don't have those yet). The style of the sword itself would seem to fit more with a Henkei version then a Hasbro one but it's the ability to take them apart and combine them with other accessories that really has me intrigued. Do we know if this is something Hasbro is going to continue in future waves? It seems like an odd thing to do for just 2 or 3 figures and then never do again. Is it a test to see how they're received before they're introduced into other lines or perhaps a test run for another toy line entirely?

I think there's a much simpler explanation: I think they just added a sword for UM to differentiate it from Optimus. It's clear that they put very little effort into most of the FoC Deluxe figures. I don't think their thinking went beyond "Give him a sword. Kids like swords."

Well, to be fair, the weapons included with the Fall of Cybertron figures are mostly based on weapons from the game. The sword is very similar to Prime's from the final level.

It was a decent added incentive to buy a retool, in addition to the mold fitting Magus about 2000% better than it did Optimus.
