First Wave of Transformers Go! Listed (Not A Beast Hunters Line?)

Courtesy of site sponsor Kapow Toys, we have a listing for the upcoming Takara toyline and animation tie-in, Transformers Go! While we have previously implied that Transformers Go! will be Takara's version of Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters, the listing is rather peculiar as there are a handful of details suggesting something other than Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters figures. As Kapow Toy details, these Go! figures, all named Samurai, look to be able to combine with each other.

  • Transformers Go! G01 Kenzan Samurai
  • Transformers Go! G02 Jinbu Samurai
  • Transformers Go! G03 Ganoh Samurai
  • Transformers Go! G04 Gaidora

The figures are set for release in June, so more details will follow. Speculate away!

Maybe "Go!" is the Takara version of the Constructo-bots?

Already being discussed here

Like I said in there, it's more than likely an error due to matching toy designations and fully Japanese names, which are non-existent in Transformers nowadays.

I'll throw my hat into the "It's gotta be a mistake" ring as well.

This is all I can say.

1) Autobase Aichi previously reported that the series has no connections to Prime.

2) The GO portion of Go! are figures made by Kabaya.

So in all cases, the first batch (prior to G) might not be an error. As I said before, we have no clue how the series stood out there... And if they are going to do their own thing, especially with the way season 2 ended.

Because remember: Takara never did dub "The Rebirth" until Pioneer published it for them. They did not publish "Beast Wars Metals" or "Beast Wars Returns" until they completed "Beast Wars Neo". So for all we know, this might become an animated series-free line, with them planning out how they will handle the follow-up to season 2 (as again, we have no idea how it has fared in Japan).

That is my 2 cents. >:oP

Huh, now that makes sense. Kabaya has made stand-alone kits in the past, look at Gaia Cross and Gaia Guardian, with no real "names" for the new characters. The numbering also makes sense, with the "O" and "0" often being confused with eachother. So in a nutshell:

- G01 to G10 are Kabaya figures
- G11 and so on is the main Beast Hunter range
- EG is the EZ range from all lines.

This is confusing...

It should be noted that BBTS now has the same products advertised in the same way, so chances of this being a mistake are getting slimmer and slimmer

Agreed, and those prices do not look like Kabaya kits to me.

I've preordered them all for now, but I'll cancel if I don't like what I see. Time will tell I suppose, but I'm anxious to see what Takara has up their sleeves.

You know, it is possible that these are preorders for whatever figures go with the next US TF series too and that Takara is simply getting ahead of Hasbro in getting the toys to market. We know TF:P is ending so something's got to take it's place. In all likelihood, this could just be whatever Hasbro has come up with for the next line/series so don't get too stressed about it being another Japanese anime TF series just yet. It's been a very long time since Takara did that, and they and Hasbro have been much more 'aligned' these days with regards to fiction and the major toy lines.

RiD, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron were all really good and (all four of them) had great associated toy lines. ;)

Site sponsor BigBadToyStore has listed their pre-order of Takara Tomy's Transformes Go! figures:

  • GO1 Kenzan Samurai (Police Car)
  • GO2 Jinbu Samurai (Jet)
  • GO3 Ganoh Samurai (Fire Truck)
  • GO4 Gaidora

They have also confirmed that GO1 through G03 will be combiners of some sort. No additional details or images at the moment, but Singapore based retailer The Falcon's Hangar is reporting they will also feature light and sound gimmicks. The Falcon's Hangar is also reporting that GO4 will be a metallic repaint of Deluxe Lazerack.

We've received initial information on the Transformers GO! Line (Japanese release of Beast Hunters) - We can confirm that the first 3 figures do have some sort of combining function, but no details and no images are ready at this time.

Thanks!

And Masterforce was an amazing series. 8)

Though, Armada's toyline was very poor in the articulation department with most (not all, but most) of its figures, thanks to the gimmick.

But there were absolutely some gems. Armada Megatron is probably my favorite Megatron in terms of overall design, bar none. Tidal Wave (whom I recently snagged on ebay for an awesome price, that made my freaking DAY) I'm waiting eagrly to receive, because it's just glorious! Obviously there's the threesome of greatness that is Armada Prime. While he lacks articulation...he's just so cool. The greatness of that combo is simply undeniable! :BOT:

Yeah, maybe GO is short for Godannar, and Laserack is Volspina!

Godannar is a hilariously good anime if you like everything that's good about old school mecha anime!

As for the combiner, I'm DYING to see it! I LOVE combiners! =P~

It's been quite some time since we've gotten a 3-man combiner group AND it sounds like it'll have multiple configurations (like the RiD Build Team).

poopy?

- Scramble City: Mobilization
- The Headmasters
- Super-God Masterforce
- Victory
- Zone
- Beast Wars II
- Beast Wars Special
- Beast Wars Neo
- CarRobots (Robots in Disguise)
- Robot Masters

These are every series that Takara has done without collaborating with Hasbro. So find a poopy series within that list, and I shall agree with you when it comes to "GO!". ;)
