G1 Soundwave Help

So I bought a G1 Soundwave figure (that is sadly incomplete) from a friend. The only problem is, other than his incompleteness, the fact that his chest is rather warped. You see, my friend said he found Soundwave underneath a box, and that the corner of the box had been resting on his chest piece. I have also noticed that his clip is broken.

I had the idea to put in a cassette or something of equal dimensions into his chest and put the Webster's Dictionary (Seriously, that thing is flipping huge) onto it, and leaving it for a few days, in hopes that he is warped back to normal. But I have doubts, as well as concerns.

I'm concerned that, due to the fact that the clip on the door is broken, that the door would not be able to close unless I did something drastic. Also that during the procedure that the door might break, putting myself in an even worse place than before.

My question to you guys is, have you guys experienced this before, and do you have any ideas on what might help? I would prefer not to take him apart, for fear of damaging or losing any of the pieces. Or worse, not being able to put him back together. What do you think?

Like he said.

Why bother when there's plenty of reissues and incomplete vintages to go around?

I like this one... I've had him for a while, and there's a bit of sentimental value there. Not to mention it is cheaper to just repair the one I have instead of buying multiple. Especially since I am saving up for either Masterpiece Acid Storm or Soundwave.

So, my advice is to just buy a junker G1 Soundwave and start modding!
