I was looking at my hardshell figure and how his insect face looks so familiar.. Then it hit me.. He resembles the Gamera monster Gurion!!

Honestly, I don't see it. I see one of these painted green and missing the lower horn.

Maybe it is just me then because when I look at his face I see a resemblance to Gurion.

I see it, Cyber Bishop. It's not just the horn, it's the way the horn sort looks like blade, and then combined with it having a mouth full of teeth instead of just insect jaws. If Hardshell's design wasn't intentionally made to homage Gurion, then maybe the designer just subconsciously did it. It could have been a Japanese designer who grew up watching those shows, which subconsciously influence everything they design.

I think any resemblances would be just coincidental generic monster features.
