Ok my question is a simple one and something that im sure has been asked before anyway my humble collection is divided simply into autobots and decepticons. Ive two movieverse sentinal primes. Yes he is an autobot but was a bad guy (in my head decipticon) so where should I display him?

Your collection = your rules.

However if I may suggest finding a place equally between both displays and put him there? I don't know if you have Optimus and Megatron facing off, but if so, then perhaps he'd look fine behind the pair of them?

One each? If you display yours together with alt mode, i'd stick him up there with the :CON:

If you have the space, why not find a spot on your desktop to display one of the Sentinels with voyager Ironhide, shooting him in the back or something?

Just a thought.

Considering you have two? I'd say do one with each..... After watching the film, I believe he was actually kind of in it for Cybertron....and Cyberton only. Save the planet, make a deal with the side that was going to win. Yes, a branded traitor, but he was in it for the planet. I put mine with the autobots, but at the end, right about the middle of the two factions.

But at the expense of a whole other planet and all it's native life. That makes him bad, that makes him Decepticon.

Mine is with the 'Cons. My collection is organised by what scale the figures are in. The Cons in that part of my collection needs all the support it can get:

See what I mean? Otherwise it would be Barricade all by himself.

 That's one big toaster =D

A similar case is RotF Jetfire and Wheelie. My Leader Sentinel is an Autobot and my Jetfire a Decepticon based on the faction symbol on their toys, but Wheelie can actually swap his symbol. Still, he barely had any screentime working for the Cons, so he got to join the Bots.

I know collection rules, actually first time heard about display rules. ;)

I think depends on which time period you associate him with. You could even have him and Optimus displaying together with Optimus offering him the matrix. I put mine with Decepticons which is how I looked at him. Same thing for Jetfire, he was with Autobots. Both of them were sold now. :-$

The only Sentinel I have is the commander one...and he's eternally Ironhide's chair for his deeds.

I don't have room for it right now, but when I do I plan to have a shelf dedicated to characters not aligned with Bots/Cons. So, there'll be the Unicron/Unicron's minions, Star Seekers, and other unaligned or functionally unaligned characters (like Dotm Sentinel is).

What I mean by functionally unaligned is that he is unaligned. He works with whoever forwards his purpose, and will step on anyone and anything who gets in his way. Does that make him more Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral? :-?

Is that Sentinel custom? Looks really boss.

For the display, I would do :BOT: on one side wirh optimus on the edge being attacked by Sentinel in the middle and have the :CON: on the right side with Megs stabbing Sentinel in the back. Do it. NAO!

Chaotic Neutral, there is nothing good about his actions :P

Well that's the chaotic part. He -was- working to restore Cybertron, but I don't disagree with you.

Yep, Chaotic is part of it. Neutral allows him to do it at the expense of another species. If he was good he wouldn't have been willing to kill off and/or enslave humanity, he would've found another way, that wasn't necessarily legal or moral. :D

Sentinel Prime in on the Decepticon side of the shelves, while Jetfire is on the Autobot side (the Legends, at least; Leader Jetfire hangs out with Highbrow and Ransack).
Granted Sentinel's been Megatron's chair for so long I kinda forgot he's there.
