future IDW Generations toys?

I didn't realize the Transformer Spotlight issues go all the way back to 2006. Maybe they will only do upcoming issues, but there a few older ones that certainly could be used.

I could see these being made:

Wheelie (2008)
Arcee (2008)
Sixshot (2006) Voyager?
Hot Rod (2006) Voyager?
Galvatron (2007) Voyager?

Shockwave, Ultra Magnus and Soundwave have had a lot of releases lately, but they are some of the most popular characters so it is always a longshot to happen?

What do you think the future of this subline could be?

I doubt they'll be going back to older Spotlights, personally.

I think Metroplex is going to be released under the IDW monicker/style though!
(Just don't quote me on that.)

Anything released this year will be G1 IDW Universe, even if the toys may not reflect that. For instance, Thundercracker will be a repaint of FoC Starscream, but his bio probably reflect G1 Thundercracker. Which works out, since IDW has repurposed WfC/FoC toys as Cybertronian forms for G1 characters, kinda like what TakaraTomy did with United.

Dankjewel, that's the confirmation I needed. :D

I want a MTMTE styled Chromedome and Brainstorm. I think with the massive fan-base CD has that he has the potential to become a possible figure.

But I could be wrong...

I personally want to see a proper Ironfist. Could be done pretty easily with the upcoming Trailbreaker mold.

Scorponok. Voyager scale, new mold.

Give me that, and honest, Hasbro, I won't ask you for anything else for my Classics shelf.

Fall of Cybertron toys, on the other hand... ;)

IDW Optimus and Ironhide, at least voyager class. I love the comic designs, and hope Hasbro is going to expand on the IDW designs in the Generations line.

I would love a new Rodimus, though I'd want him at Deluxe size to keep him in scale with the other TF cars.

A new Magnus would be pretty damn awesome too.

At this point, people shouldn't get their hopes up as it could go either way. The fact is that Hasbro must be very nervous about the gamble they've taken with IDW stuff - in particular with Metroplex. The fact is that this will go one of 2 ways. Either they'll do well in the mainstream, in which case Hasbro will most likely jump at the chance to make more, or they'll shelfwarm and Hasbro will write off the entire idea and most likely never do it again.

However if it does do well, it would be pretty safe to presume that every major IDW character - original or pre-existing - would be on the table.

EDIT: That said, Hasbro should seriously consider releasing Senator Ratbat in the Generations line.

Yes.

The United release won't work here? I thought the head sculpt was very IDW if I remember correctly.

::EDIT::

Oh Hasbro. Never mind then. What is the History of Hasbro taking a unique Takara repaint and releasing it?

Not that impressive actually:

Henkei Alert (2009) -> Generations Red Alert (2010) (with tweaked deco and different siren)
Superlink Sandstorm with Cannon (2004) -> KB Toys Energon Cyclonus with Crumplezone (late 2004)
Superlink Ironhide with Search (2004) -> KB Toys Energon Demolishor with Blackout (2004)

BW Neo Big Convoy (1999) -> Universe 2003 Nemesis Prime (2004)
BWII Hellscream (1998) -> Universe 2003 Overbite (2004)

The reverse is more likely to happen, unique Hasbro repaints released by TakaraTomy as an exclusive, and little to no changes made to boot. :lol:

Interesting... I can't believe that's all. at least there's a chance that it can happen for those that want the Takara ratbat repaint.
