My son is 12 and has read every marvel comic and watched every G1 episode and loves to look at my collection and he has his own Masterpiece collection going, otherwise he is stuck on his computer. our mutual love for the transformers has bonded us in ways that i dont see a lot of dads doing in this day and age.

I hope it will when I have kids in the future. Even if they have no interest in TFs, though, my love of toys will help. Whatever toys my kids like, I'll end up buying them like a million of them.

I have two daughters and they don't give a flying crap about TF's. They do not have to bond with me, I have to bond with them. So feel I should play their games, not the other way around.

So no.

This is a very interesting question and one I hope to work into my relationship with my first born son, Daniel. :D

Like many of us on these boards, I grew up throughout the 70s and enjoyed the fun of transforming robots through the 80s.
The shift into my teens, moving to the south of the U.K with my family then starting work, toys where stored away for a while then later sold off at Car Boot Sales or given to Charity Shops, I let life take over.

I continued to collect the U.K. and U.S. comic books which I still own to this day. Those will never leave me! 8)

I think it was the introduction of the 'Alternators' and 'Classics' lines which brought the toys back in to my life but I seem to recall seeing previous lines in stores.

Having love for the original toys when I was a child and my later adult collection which I now only display, made me think of any children I would have and would I encourage my love of Transformers to be enjoyed by them too?

I will of course be introducing the world of Transformers to my son when he is old enough as he is only 6 weeks old right now!
Perhaps ease him in with some faction logo bibs or suits moving to some of the plush soft toys! ;)

My 6yr old daughter has her own TF legion class collection. She loves my TFs and loves reading the comics with me slideshow style on a tablet. She would make up her own stories, and every week we would introduce one of my TFs into her story. Dreadwing hanging out with Monster High dolls is not an uncommon sight in my house lol

I wasn't being nasty. At least not intentionally. It's not meant to offend you, it's just that they really do not give a flying crap about TF's.

I don't have kids but my 3 year old niece is fascinated by my TF's every time she comes into my room, which is kind of funny considering she's been ignoring the figures I put in the playroom for her as of late - barbies and trains have been winning out. Every time she comes into my room though she picks up RTS Lugnut and the DOTM Burger King figures that are in reach. And then she'll wander over to one of the shelves and ask random things about the figures on there.

But does she have a great interest in TF's? No. When she was younger she was obsessed with Bumblebee, but that was mostly due to the fact that I snagged the 2007 movie Ultimate Bee at a flea market for $8 when she was, like, a year old (a little less, I think). At that age anything with lights and sounds, especially if they move while doing either, will fascinate a child. So for the longest time Bee was one of the first toys she wanted to play with whenever she came over. She loved the Playskool Bee I got her for her 2nd birthday too.

Ah well. Maybe when she gets a bit older I'll be able to "corrupt" her again. Lol.

Nope, my TF collection has not brought me any closer to my kids because I don't have any and never want any :P.

My nephew thinks they're pretty cool though, and he LOVES Beast Wars. Ever since I showed it to him, he's hooked.
