Binaltech (BT13 to BT16) - TFsource Article

When Transformers collectors speak about Generation 1, the rose-tinted glasses come out and nostalgia colours perceptions. The technology employed at the time of manufacture is now appreciated for what it was in the grand scheme of things, and the figures that made up the line are enjoyed as venerable icons. When collectors now speak of Binaltech, they're sometimes described as "ahead of their time" or "vastly outdated thanks to modern Masterpiece", but almost a decade on from their inaugural release, is it not time for perception to shift and for Binaltech to be appreciated for what it was instead of how it ranks on such technical levels to what is available today or how well it replicated what had gone before? No more modern comparisons, no more damning analysis. It's time to give the Binaltech project and concept credit for what it did and tried to do so well.

I've enjoyed reading these BT articles, but did you know about the Prowl leg fix that allows him more knee articulation as well as knees lower down his leg?

Hey dude, many thanks! Yeah someone mentioned it over on TFW and I remember it from back in the day. I've not really chosen to go into collector modifications or adjustments in much depth because I wanted to stay as true to the original releases and intentions for these articles. It's the same for my collection, I never did the Lambor chest trick because I honestly prefer the toys as they were designed. It's also why I haven't applied any reprolabels to any of them :)

It's really your loss with Prowl!

What's this Lambor chest trick?

At the moment my greater loss is that 99% of them are in storage making any robot mode fix a little moot right now...

On Lambor, some found a way of reversing the midriff so that the rear of the car ended up as his chest.

I have managed to do this, involved trimming some plastic off the inside and it looks marvellous! :D
