Of the Prime Voyager "Mechtech" weapons, only Ultra Magnus' weapon can officially be locked in place. There's a cheat however for Thundertron's weapon, by using the foot weapon. Attach it to the sword and wedge the blade between the foot itself and the outer "wing/claw"

The easiest way is to use a clear rubber band, but PRiD voyager Optimus Prime has the same style weapon and I just took out the spring. It's a very simple thing to do, and I don't have to worry about it snapping back on me, then you can slap that rubber band on there and it holds in place without resistance. Alternatively, you could take off the battery pack altogether, but that would require a bit more work, not something I've tried.

If yours locks in place, it's technically a fluke. However, the gears which the blades are attached to allow the blades to rotate freely (with some resistance), independent of the gears.

You can use that fact to rotate the blades into place. ;)

the point is he's dead, and the matrix died with him!

I chose poorly in my word writings. But you can move the blades out on the weapon same as they would be if you pressed the button and lit up...nothing much really. so you can have the blades out, and they won't flop about, almost as if they're locked. lock lock lock, bladey blades blades.
