Blitzwing. Is. Crap.

So, I finally found Generations Blitzwing at my local Wal-Mart today, and I was so excited to get him home. Naturally, as soon as I crack him out of the box, he had the non-locking shoulders issue. I thought, "I'll just employ that easy fix peaugh was talking about." Didn't work. Next I tried sanding the parts down preventing the locking, like I had seen in many videos and post here and elsewhere. I was doing that for two hours, and they still don't lock. On top of that, the first time I try to use the face-change gimmick, it breaks. Now that won't work.
I have to hand it to Hasbro, they created a toy so sh***y, I didn't even get to transform it once. What do you think, will I be able to exchange it for a new one at Wal-Mart if I already opened this one?
Then again, what's to say I won't have the same problems on the second one? Ugh.......

You've already damaged it by sanding bits and breaking the face gimmick. Chalk it up as a loss. It won't be the first crappy figure you buy. I've bought a few in my time and just chucked em in the garbage.
Harden up and move on to the next figure. Which i think should be Springer. I believe he'll bring a smile to your face. Even Sandstorm to.
I've always disliked Blitzwing anyways. I'm glad his figure sucks so i don't have to buy it.

If it was just the face breaking I'd say return it, it might have been defective. Once you started modifying it yourself though that makes it all yours. Please don't pass that on to someone else.

Assuming you used reasonable force, the face would have broken regardless of you trying to modify the shoulders.
Take it back, explaining that it was broken and exchange for a new one. The one you take back will not be sold to someone else. Don't modify the new one until you've check that everything else is fine.

I bought blitzwing awhile ago.
Okay, so I was at a store that had 1 of each, springer and Blitzwing. I already had GDO springer, so I took blitzwing.
Well yeah, the face gimmick on mine is really stiff, to the point it wont move, and the shoulders don't lock.
But I don't mind it. I never touch it, just leave him on a shelf to look pretty, and he serves that purpose well.

Oddly, mine's fine. The shoulders lock, the face gimmick works, everything. I just don't like the looks of the tank mode. Still, I've seen FAR worse figures in the past.

I got Springer and Blitzwing yesterday. Following Jin Saotome's instructions for the face gimmick saved my bacon. Sill working on unscrewing his torso, or rather, finding a suitable sander...
Other than that though, my shoulders aren't as loose and floppy as other's seem to be. They don't lock, but they don't pop out either. Overall, he's a good figure, like really good IMO, just some QC issues to deal with.
Springer on the other hand...
Oh my god Springer, he's just perfect. Well, the helicopter mode is kinda eh.... but I mean, the G1 was kinda meh, so it hits the mark fine in my book!

I recieved Springer/Blitzwing yesterday from Walmart. So far I made the adjustments to Blitz and the figure is pretty cool. I like him and unfortunatly this version withh be tarnished forever. Thank you Hasbro!!!

I managed to partially fix the shoulder issue by dabbing super glue to the ridge behind the shoulder pieces to force them forward just a hair; they still pop off a little-too easy, but at least I can actually move the arms carefully. I also managed to fix the head gimmick, so that's working now.
All in all, I managed to reverse a loss, but I'm still not all too happy with this fig. Big on looks, not on quality. Poor job this time, Hasbro.
To everyone who recommended Springer to me, I actually bought him a few weeks ago, and I heartily agree with all of you, he is amazing. Now if only I had an Ironfist to go with him...

Aw nertz... I was really looking forward to Blitzy. Now I not only have to worry about shoddy distribution, but also it's just plain shoddy workmanship too?
NERTZ!
And don't tell me to wait and get Springer, for some reason I've never cared for Springer as a character or toy, dunno why, just don't.

I'm upset with both. I wound up buying extras of each just to see if I could get a better figure and those had the same problems as well.
I don't care about the shoulders on Blitzwing. Its that head on a spring that is too big to fit into the nosecone. I know it will eventually break the nosecone one day. The head is painted yellow so it started rubbing off into the inside nosecone. Total B.S.!!!!!!
Not to mention the first one had stressed flaking plastic.
I transformed it once or twice and now I'm just waiting for the 3rd party upgrade kit before I mess something up.
The Springers have messed up paint apps too. All the yellow and green areas that are painted are not pristine, they are either chipped or not opaque and washed out. The windshield doesn't peg in properly in both alt modes.
Yeah in robot mode they both look really cool, but that is about it.

I don't have any problems with springer and Blitzwing had one shoulder that popped out that I fixed in less than ten minutes with alittle sanding.

im not sure why the sanding didn't work on yours..mine works like charm (after i tried 3 times though)..but once i opened the box, other than fixing the shoulder lock,i also did disassemble the head and get rid of paint smudges that caused the face-swap gimmick to stuck..after that i really enjoyed the figure..not so g1 accurate but it's a fun figure nontheless

Springer's the superior voyager from what I've heard of his classmate. I'm happy with Springer, so I'm just gonna pass on Shitzwing. Thanks for saving me some heartache.

After reading all this I decided to cancel my order for Blitzwing.

Good luck on a new one, if you find one that's some good fortune.
I hope all this bad crap that Blitzwing brings isn't the same for Takara.

If I choose to get the Hasbro version the shoulder problem won't bug me too much. And that lame-ass head gimmick..it won't be set to any face other than his G1 mug...'nuff said!

Hopefully Takara's version will be better, but probably not (likely only in paint and plastic color only).

I took mine out of the box, posed him how I wanted him and put him on the shelf.. There he shall stay, never to be transformed

Blitzwing is awful. I tried every shoulder fix out there and none of them worked. I couldn't touch his arms without the whole thing coming undone. On top of that his alt modes wouldn't stay together. Parts would pop out while others wouldn't pop in at all. Buying 2 Airachnids would be a better use of your money.

Damn it. I was gonna get 1 just for the plane mode, and not even worry about the robot mode and the shoulders. Are the alt modes really that bad? I want to convince myself to get this figure, but so far, all I see is "NO!!!"

Mine pegs together just fine, with the exception of one shoulder. I'm not even that bothered by the shoulders, I could use one of the fixes to tighten them up, but since I don't really "play" with my figures I don't see the point. He holds poses just fine, the only time they become an issue is when you are actually moving the arms around. It's a good figure despite a few flaws, well worth $22.00 in my opinion.

Hmm, I might still get 1 then, I get figures for display, not messing around with. I need another larger Blitzwing to go with my TFA Blitzwing, so G1 Blitzwing can have proper back-up.

He's not perfect, but like I said for the $22.00 investment I don't think you'll regret the purchase. If you don't like him, just take him back.

The issue with the jet is the nose cone. It's soft rubber and you have to wedge his head into it and it never fits in very well. I've heard on some of them the head won't stay retracted, which would make it even worse.
