How tall is 30th anniversary Springer?

I'm normally an avid masterpiece collector, but I have to say that I'm impressed with the video reviews of the 30th anniversary Springer. My question is, How tall is he in inches/metric? And how does his size compare to the figures in the MP line? Anybody have a pic of him next to a masterpiece figure?

I also got a look at him with reprolabels. I'm sorely tempted to get this figure!

I can measure him for you when I get home, and maybe take a pic of him next to MP TC, but you really should just get it. It's a great figure.

I don't have measurements for him handy, but I do have a photo of him with many other figures that can hopefully provide some sense of scale for you.

You had asked how he compares with Masterpiece figures. They're not right next to one another, so perhaps not the best photo for comparisons, but there is one Masterpiece in this photo. (Grimlock.)

Sorry, I didn't take any photos, but here are my thoughts: If you're displaying them in bot mode, I think he'll look good alongside MPs. But if you want to display them in alt mode, and you're a stickler for scale, it's not going to work well.

If you are a stickler for scale, he is not going to fit in with any g1 related collection, because he is TALL.

Yotsuyasan's pic makes me thing he'll be fine for my Classics which are kinda all over the place height-wise anyway. He's not as tall as Magnus or Blaster, so that's fine by me.

Put it next to CHUG Hot Rod or Galvatron and you will see what I mean. Your best bet for a close as possible Springer for a CHUG collection would be a Warbot Defender. That one screams g1. This Springer is comic based and is a much more aligned continuity type figure. It is a comic figure (IDW), but could be shoehorned into an aligned collection since WFC/FOC/Prime has not introduced Springer, so this feasibly could be him.

You've got a bastardized mix of figures from different lines there, but you know what, somehow most of them work together nicely! Except Arcee as animated does not look like anything else, but hey, its the best out there at this point. Don't worry though, I would wager Hasbro has her up next in an aligned or IDW look and I would be suprised if she is not unveiled at Botcon. Which can work in even a G1 or CHUG collection, because of her g1 cybertronian look. I do hope they make her a car though and not a motorbike, but I digress.
Who is your Hot Rod there? I don't recognise it.

I think that's HotRod with the protector armor.

As gothweaver suspected, it is Classics Hot Rod wearing Fansproject's Protector Armor.

I used to have Warbot Defender in with that collection... And still love that figure dearly. But after getting this Springer, I decided he fit in better with these guys. You said that Defender would fit better size-wise with figures like Hot Rod or Galvatron.... but, well... That Galvtron's always been a puny wimp, anyway. As for Hot Rod... when (thanks to Fansproject) he becomes Rodimus Prime, and when Ultra Magnus has his armor, this Springer fits in very nicely with them.

Yeah... Animated Arcee does stick out a wee bit... But at least she has a custom head and guns (and I took a silver Sharpie to her yellow bits) so she looks a bit more G1-ish.

Other then her (and a few humans or Targetmaster partners) the only ones who aren't technically isn't "CHUG" (never liked that term... I usually still just say "Classics," even if it is from one of the later differently named but Classics inspired lines) would be Blaster and his Data Discs. I don't really go for toys from his continuity... But Blaster seemed decent, and like he might fit in well. (The only other "Classics" option for Blaster would be the USB hub one. I'd never gotten that one... And he wouldn't have had updated versions of his cassettes, anyway.)

Really, for any "Classis" collection to have a decently full line up, it is going to have to mix lines at some point. For example, my pre-movie Decepticon have Classics, Universe, United, Generations, a bit of thid-party (Reflector), Music Label (Soundwave), and even a Real Gear figure from the 2007 movie (Booster X-10, repurposed as Lazerbeak. A bit large compared to his fellows, but he will make due until if something better and the right price comes along.)

Hot Rod is mostly an okay height. Shame he has such a tiny head. I've got him in the Protector armour as well, so it'll be fine. As for Galvatron. There isn't a Classics version of the character. I own the Universe Deluxe sized one, but that's clearly an April Fools joke that someone didn't get and okayed into full production.

Energon has an excellent stand-in for Galvy, though:

I'm aware of super rare and expensive Galvatron from Energon. He looks damn good, but I have the Megatron and he's not really articulated enough for me.

Thanks for posting some of these pictures as I was wondering his height as well. I am buying him in the next week or so and getting the repro-labels. This Springer is tight looking.
