TFCC Astrotrain. Generations Blitzwing. ??? Octane.

I have Astrotrain from 2007 and now Generations Blitzwing. I'd like to complete the Triplechangers and I need Octane. The original G1 would be too small. Are there other versions besides the Classics (which I heard SUCKS) that would fit with the other 2?

Classics Octane isn't that bad. He's merely misunderstood.
Also, I don't think there's a triple changer out there that would fit G1 Octane. Maybe a Generations Blitzwing with a custom paintjob? Otherwise a DOTM Airraid in purple?

Classics 'Tankor' most certainly does not suck. He is small, and would have worked better as a voyager, but he looks nice in all three modes. Both alt-modes are actually pretty ingenious, and neither is a "Cybertronian (fill in vehicle of preference) because-I-say-it-is" mode.
The shield is a great tribute to G1 Octane as well.

Gah, I may have been thinking of Universe Tankor. If so, my mistake. Anyway, I couldn't really find anything. Hopefully HasTak will turn their attention to him in the near future and give us a decent Generations or even Club Exclusive piece.

For the record, we're all talking about this guy:
Universe Tankor aka "Classics 2.0 Octane"
He's quite nifty. Not the best but does what he's supposed to do pretty well. He's the only one that's a Triple Changer though. As an alternative/stand in,
Movie Jetstorm, a repaint of Cybertron Jetfire will probably suffice. He can be considered a dim homage to Octane, even if it's a happy accident.

He is an awesome figure indeed and I admit I was very quick to dismiss him at first. He grew on me more and more when I got the Henkei version which is the best version IMO. I personally don't ever transform him into plane mode, his saddest mode. The worst flaw is they made him a deluxe when he should have been a voyager as someone pointed out. I say get him and like most keep him Octane.

What size is this toy in comparison to Generations Blitzwing?

He's Deluxe-size, like Classics Astrotrain. So he'll be out of scale with the rest, hence my suggestion of Movie Jetstorm.

Tankor/Octane is good though, his guns gimmick is nice, his hair-comb of doom is very Spaceballs and he has really cool transformations. I have a lot of fun just switching him from one mode to the other. Larger and better hand/arm arrangement and he'd have been pretty spot-on.
I can't count that Jetfire repainted as Astrotrain though. He's too yellow and...he's not a train.

Use G1 Octane, because he's a G1 toy and those fit style wise into every line ever since they are so amazingly designed and detailed. Or wait for an Animated Octane, since that style totally doesn't clash with anything else and could even be passed off as a Movie toy.
OK, joking aside, that Universe Tankor really is your best shot at the moment, maybe a 3rd party will make a better one down the line, one that better fits with the new triple changers.
Now, here's something I would love to point out and laugh at.
Remember when Universe Tankor came out and people complained about him being a Deluxe? Remember Hasbro's reply to that? "He's supposed to fit in with Classics, and since Astrotrain is a deluxe in that line all Classic style tripple-changers will also be deluxes to not look out of place with Astrotrain."

Belated Epic Fail there

I wonder if they will make a voyager Astrotrain and Octane? Kind of figure they will, if they make them, we will buy them, and if there is money to be made I can't imagine they will pass on that.
Universe Tankor, who I will call classics Octane as well, is a good figure. I passed on him when he first came out. From the picture I thought that his weapon was his hand. And I wasn't impressed by his vehicle modes. They could be called ugly. Definitely not as nice as some vehicle modes. But really a cargo plane and a tanker truck or whatever they were and are now don't have to be gorgeous. They are supposed to function and they work. The robot mode is awesome and he has two vehicle modes that do what they need to do. I am really happy that I got Octane. I hear what the others are saying, that he may be small compared to the other voyagers. But on his own, he is a cool figure.

I'm pretty sure that Tankor/Octane appeared in vehicle mode in a flashback sequence in the Ironhide mini series. What struck me was that it very closely resembled the Classics tanker truck mode but given the time setting it was meant to be Cybertronian.
I'm also lucky enough to have picked up a Voyager size KO of Tankor at some stage. The head is a little different and the colours are off but the size really suits the vehicle modes.
I am kicking myself for not getting the oversized Astrotrain they advertised but it was out of stock. It's one of my grails.

I was messing around with Classics Octane last weekend, and I remember really liking him when he was first released, but wasn't too happy with him now. He's ok for what he is, but what he is isn't much. Worth owning, but not much of an "oh man, look at this" kind of figure.

I think that's a terrific idea. I don't think the Jetstorm is an homage honestly, and you don't need to point out to me that both he and Octane have the jumbo jet (for lack of a better name, which I'm also not interested in being corrected on) alt mode, as I'm aware of that. I think it's much more of a happy accident, but what a happy accident. I think that lineup would look great.

Jetstorm's wave mate, Wingblade has colors opposite of the colors, and funnily enough, makes dimly look like Springer!

Too bad he doesn't match any Cybertron Primes...

I'd never noticed that. Too bad his alt mode isn't Springer-ish at all, because if you look at it the right way, his robot mode could be. Could. In a pinch.
That's interesting though.
