Do RtS Fallback and Mindset work with Classics?

I know that RtS Fallback and Mindset are based on movie series molds, but they look to me like they would work okay with Classics. Any opinions on that?

RTS was meant as a quasi Generations line anyway so technically they do fit in.
The parts of the pseudo movie lines like RTS and HftD, were packaged like that for retailers who wanted more movie product; but fans that knew better cherry picked the homage work from both of those sublines.

I like these guys a lot, so putting them in with my NeoG1 has not been a problem.
I also own the Brawn and Hailstorm, respectively, and include them in that portion of my collection as well.
Ultimately, its up to you.

Honestly, whatever floats your boat. :)

With the Mindset/Hailstorm mold, Hailstorm was repurposed as G1-Hailstorm via the IDW G1 ongoing series of comic books. You can play "six degrees" and link Mindset to neo-G1/Classics through the Hailstorm reporpusing. Plus, it helps that Mindset's on card bio is so ambiguous, that you could place him in just about any Transformers continuity. Though, there is a G2 character in the Marvel comics continuity named Mindset who is a Decepticon instead of an Autobot, but hey, the G2 line reporposed other Autobot names as new Decepticon characters (e.g., Smokescrean), so that's not necessarily a problem.

As for Fallback...again his bio is ambiguous, and no official fiction has yet pegged him into the Michael Bayverse, so it's really up to your tastes. I'm using BotCon 2005 Fallback as my G1 Outback.

I'm not concerned with where they are in fiction so much as I am with their movie aesthetic clashing too much with Classics.

I picked up the RotF Brawn to be my Neo-Classics Brawn but his massive back kibble, chicken legs and clown feet just didnt fit into the Classics look, even 'Neo'!

I like the Mindset/Hailstrom mold, I think he works fine as a Classics stand-in.
I have plans for that mold.... ;)

I need to lay my hands on a cheap (U.K. based) Hailstorm if anyone is having a clear out? :D

I've got Fallback on my Classics shelf. Just too cool of a mold to languish in the land of bees.

I put Hailstorm in with movie, just too much Bayverse aesthetic for it to really fit in with the more blocky classics designs.

Basically the later half, or well "spin-off" movie lines are usually Classics. Hasbro wanted to release a couple of Classics-line figures after the end of the original movie line, but retailers demanded more Movie toys, so the Classics where cancelled and sold under the Movie banner to get stores to buy them.
So Hasbro did the same for ROTF, but not for DOTM since that line was so "popular" that it was cancelled in favor of more Classics.

Fallback /Brawn is a great mold...... until you get to his legs, to this day I use his back kibble to make him stand against a wall. As for your question though, does he fit in for you? It's your collection, do what's right for you and don't let anyone else tell you it isn't awesome.

You mean Breakaway, Crankcase and Fracture? Those were only confirmed Classics that were shuffled into the Movie line. The rest were all for the Movie lines from the very start. Except for Reveal the Shield of course.

Nope, Muvie Mudflap was confirmed to have originally having been Classics Erector. All redecoes of non-movie molds where going to be part of a sort of Classics line.

Even Wingblade and Jetstorm, who have rather realistic paint jobs in vehicle mode?

Well, I just bought these guys on Ebay, so this thread is kinda unnecessary now. Thanks for the opinions!

Checked on those, those decoes where designed specially for the Movie line, Jetstorm even being based on a plane in the movie, so I was wrong and it's not all of them. But it's still a good part of the ones that did see release.

It's a shame the legs on yours are that loose. My stands really well and has supported others (COUGH Defender Cough) with no problems. He is annoying fun to transform as well, I always have trouble with him, but enjoy it for some reason

Well it's not like the Classics toys are diehard GEEWUNers that'll destroy anything that isn't a "real" Classics toy...

I think the Classics line is already varied enough you can include other lines into it without really breaking the aesthetic. Straxus, Lugnut, and Kickback are pretty weird and inhuman themselves, can't really fault Fallback and Mindset for doing just that. And compare the recent Triple-Changers to the older two; that's quite the difference in styles.

That line describes the line incredibly well and makes collecting it more fun because of the re-purposing.

He's a weird homage case. The base figure is a throwback to Mindset from the Marvel G2 comics. He was neither Autobot or Decepticon, he was a member of the Cybertronian Empire (a third faction which reuses the :G2CON: symbol) under the command of Jhiaxus.
