I'm not sure where to post this so it is both appropriate and be able to get the attention needed to alert every owner of a Botcon MW Hoist toy with reversed shoulders.

To the moderators: Please move this to the appropriate area of the forum if this isn't a good spot to post the information.

Below is a video on how to remove capped metal pins, which is the type of method used to secure Botcon MW Hoist's shoulders(Generations Kup mold).

Keep it here, in fact this should be on the front page. :)

It would be great if the word gets out for this fix. It looks pretty easy and I'm sure the owners of MW Hoist can at least see how they could fix the shoulder reversal issue.

Here's an update. I neglected to speak about re-installing a removed pin in the previous video so I shot a quick demonstration:

Using this and the previous video, anyone who wants to fix their Botcon MW Hoist should have the information they need.

Machine Wars Hoist from this year's BotCon exclusive Machine Wars: Termination box set came complete with a couple bothersome factory assembly errors. Many of the figures had a faulty inner chest mechanism, which keeps his torso from locking into place properly in robot mode (click here to take of that issue). The second assembly error affects all of the Hoist figures, and is more difficult to correct. All the Hoist figures came with their shoulder pieces reversed. While this doesn't prevent transformation into either mode, it does hinder the figure's poseablility. The shoulder pieces are attached using capped pins, which can prove difficult to remove, especially to the inexperienced. Proceed with caution.

Luckily for us Seibertron.com member Convotron dropped by the Energon Pub with a couple of tutorial videos on capped pin removal and reinsertion. Please keep in mind the figure can function without correcting the problem, and attempting this procedure could damage your figure if not performed properly.

Why aren't they replacing all of these mis-assembled figures that people paid a LOT of money for?

There are none, all copies of BotCon Hoist have the same assembly problem. That would require ordering another batch, with no guarantee of them being assembled correctly. Surprisingly, his mold-mate Electro is perfectly fine. What are the odds.

Thanks for getting this to the front page, El Duque.

I'm hoping that everyone who has the Botcon MW Hoist figure can have a bit of consolation knowing that the procedure for removing and re-inserting the pins in the shoulders is quite simple and easy.

Even if an owner of the figure isn't feeling up to the task, the option is there and it's clearly demonstrated(I hope) should they either try the fix for themselves at a later time or acquire the assistance of someone with some toy disassembly experience.

That's sad....paying that much money for something to have to turn around and fix yourself.

I agree, it's a shame that not only one but two production errors showed up in the toy. Add the fact that this is a relatively low production run toy.

At least the official fix for the chest problem was published quickly. The shoulders are a more troublesome issue, though, so, unfortunately, extra steps do need to be taken if one wants to fix them.
