is my G1 grapple legit?

i saw that in the photo section his hook and "extender" stand were both chrome or chrome looking. mine are both grey plastic. other than that it stands up to the pictures.

Check for the copyright/trademark stamp...

I'm not sure if the HASBRO re-issues were a little different than the G1 vintage in the areas you mention, but it is likely, as not tha they made that little asthetic change.

on the stamp it says
some chinese charicters and then takara 1980,1982 and under that hasbro 1980,1982??????

i was sold this thinking it wasn't a reissue....thanks for the help in advanced.

Thats what mine says and I've had it for 2 decades. However, mine is chromed out.

I have the Hasbro TRU reissue, and I have a light grey plastic hook, and a slightly darker grey support pole. A friend of mine has the original with the chrome painted hook and support pole. His Hook has flaked off some of the chrome paint, and it is a similar grey underneath too.

but what is your date stamp? if mine was a reissue wouldn't it have a date stamp that wasn't 1980,1982?

My re-issue have a 1980 1982 date stamp. Looks like yours might be a re-issue.

The date stamp on my re-issue is also is 1980 1982.

ok here's a good way to test it, what colour are your Grapple's eyes, and was there an autobot logo on his chest that wasn't a sticker?
