Are you on the fence for that expensive Transformers? To buy or not to buy?

You've been eyeing the thing for a long time, but you never had the spare income to buy it. Then, unexpected money comes in! So, the most sensible thing to do is to buy some useless junk! Still, that Transformers is awefully expensive. It could be a Platinum Edition, a G1 original,a something-or-other exclusive, or a custom.
Will you really spend that much money on that expensive Tf?
Share your heart desire with us. Even at the risk of either buyer remorse, or eternal regret of missing it.
I REALLY love the Inferno mold. I bought Classic inferno at 90$ without regrets and I have RTS Solar Storm Grappel and Gen Hot Spot. I have my eyes on that Exclusive Artfire for a while. Now that it's "only" 99$ plus 14$ of shipping at BBTS, should I buy it? It's just a stupid repaint. That come with two targetmasters. And is confirmed to remain exclusive forever. Bah, who I am kidding? I paid 90$ shipped for classic Inferno. ARTFIRE, YOU ARE MINE! How can I resist after seeing that quick review?

Yes.
All too often.

Depends on which figure. I've already save for the Tomy Metroplex. Heck, if G1 Star Saber was green lighted, I'd have taken it too.

If for some reason I suddenly had a lot of cash? I'd hunt around for Galaxy Convoy on ebay. He's one of those figs that truly stands the test of time.
Barring that, there's still hope for an MP version, thanks to that recent poll by TT.

It's likely that the poll TT ran was really just to gauge interest in what the fans wanted. Whatever MP we get outta this poll, it will no doubt have been decided ages ago (before the poll) who it would be. Iirc MP-01 was in development for roughly three years. No way can they design a brand new MP of that scale within the time of the poll and the unveiling of who it actually is. In other words the poll made absolutely no difference as to who we get in this MP slot
EDiT: sorry went off topic
Mine would be E-Hobby clear binaltech Mirage. New stuff keeps getting in the way of me having the money to buying him .
Re: Are you on the fence for that expensive Transformers? To buy or not to buy?
Every time I see a post like this one, I'm so bloody happy I got these guys when they where new.

Fort Max, Metroplex, MP Sideswipe.
I was actually planning to get Fort Max and making him one of the only figures I buy this year, but then I committed to a once-in-a-lifetime trip and had to nuke the idea. Kinda depressing, but I know I'll enjoy the vacation far more than I ever would the toy.

The only one I really teetered over was MakeToys Paladin/Chaos, so not technically a Transformers figure.
I don't really spring for particularly expensive sets, and I don't have too many backlogged wishlists to fulfill either. I think the most I've spent deciding on whether to buy or not is the current MP Optimus Prime (TRU). But I'm actually just stalling, waiting for the price to go down.

Yeah ditto. So happy I was not deployed when these guys came out. But gavinfuzzy post made me look at ebay and was surprised how much they were actually going for.
I was even surprised to find a FOC sideswipe for $30+ bucks. There is 7 of these in the closest walmart from me. Crazy. I get it if your not in the U.S. or where these are easily available, but thats crazy scalping.

Your only hope is if Takara is making a reissue. Even then, the price will just go UP. Friendly advice, dont wait anymore. JUMP THAT FENCE!

Nope. I have it on good authority that the six OPs in my local TRU will eventually go on clearance. That, and a friend who works there can get one for me with her 20% staff discount.

I guess it all really depends on what it is, how rare/hard to come by it is and just how badly I want it. I've paid absurd prices for some of the old 3H Botcon Beast Wars exclusives due to their limited production numbers and age, but every one of them was totally worth it to me, I just had to make sure I could afford each one as I acquired them.
If it's something new, then it really depends I guess. I usually pull the trigger right away if it's something I know I'm going to want (like Takara Metroplex etc.). I very seldom wait just because I've seen how hard it can be to get your hands on a desirable figure these days post-release (scalpers, more collectors, higher demand, sellers' market etc.) so BBTS is my best friend.
On a related note, I just recently dropped $500 on this custom from Encline Designs. It was totally worth it though, and now that I've got him in hand there's not even a hint of buyer's remorse.

Anyone have bought Transformers Generations 2012 Volume 01 - Artfire? What do you think of it? Will it be rare enough to either maintain or increase it's value?
Note that if I buy it, I'm going to take that mofo out of his box and play with him. Leaving it in box is pointless because that's one ugly box.

Props for girl loving Transformers!
That's the only part I managed to understand. Such a block of text is almost unreadable without any punctuation at all. Some comas, a dot at end of phrases, paragraphs, and capitalisation goes a long way to be understood.

Agreed. I couldn't understand any of it. Utter nonsense. With that being said. An expensive "transformer" that i suggest everyone buy is Fantoys Quakewave. It is absolute TF gold. Seriously. Not a TF by conventional standards mind you ,i.e HasTak, but hands down the best Shockwave you'll ever own.

Sorry Chaos, but I couldn't read it either.

I fell off the fence and pre-ordered the (final?) production run of him with the solid hand and gun barrel a while back. Hopefully he will ship soon.

sorry i don't use a lot of punctuation. i tend to use dashes but basicly she sold me a lot of them cheap that are from classic or the ones that were from japan for 30 bucks. and they included the 3 variations fo the prime mold the 3 seekers hound and ravage and inferno.

only thing ive been on the fence about has been sdcc or retail metroplex.
decided on retail. though I really like the extra gun, and the little figures. I really hate the chrome on his legs. and the chrome face is ok.

If it's something I've been wanting for a long time then I would buy that figure. If my desire has waned then I wouldn't.
