The official Transformers Collectors' Club store has listed Scourge from this year's TFSS for individual purchase. A limited stock is currently available for $69.99 limit five per member.

THIS ITEM IS LIMITED TO 5 PER MEMBERSHIP.

The first of the 2013 Transformers Figure Subscription Service Figures, Scourge. Very limited.

SCOURGE ®

“Vengeance is an excuse for failure. I do not seek vengeance.”

DECEPTICON ® CLONE COMMANDER

Cunning, dangerous, and cruel, SCOURGE is a no nonsense field commander charged with leading his army into battle. Although he shows little compassion for his troops, he shows even less for the enemy as he swings his signature “Sword of Fury” blade relentlessly towards the opposition, seeking to wreak as much bodily damage as possible. Should that fail to deliver the final blow, a barrage attack from his four shoulder-mounted missile launchers will end the fight with definitive results.
Formed when multiple personalities - including the heroic OPTIMUS PRIME’S ® - were simultaneously scanned, Scourge rarely speaks of his origins. He detests them. He seeks to one day rectify the “mix-up” during his creation by slicing through the AUTOBOT ® Commander’s armor plating and extinguishing the spark of life within.

I'm not affected personally but - doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of having a subscription?

If I were able to own one version of this mold, this would be the one. But the pricetag tells me that the Ultimate Giftset with the two little Legends and Jazz (who I also have yet to get) in Generation 2 deco is the better fit. :P

I believe when they announced the service they did say that they'd put any extras up for sale on the site. This doesn't mean that every one will be put up. The service is a way to make sure you get what you want though.

Ah, cool. I remember them saying they'd order the run based on the subscriptions received, but it would make sense for a factory to be like "We can't do 968 but 1,000 is fine".

The collector in me wants to order another one to keep in the box, but even at $69 I can't really justify it. :-?

This is total BS. NO ONE should get this figure except those how paid the very high price for a subscription. What the hell? This is total crap! What the hell did I pay all that damn money for?

Hehe, just kidding :P. This is awesome and I'm glad they did it, because (even though I did sign up for a subscription; gotta have my Ultra Mammoth :P), I knew this figure would be quite desirable, so much so that it likely would have done well as a regular retail release (which we were all expecting before hearing about this thing being an exclusive) so it's good to know that collectors who wanted this but couldn't afford/weren't interested in the subscription service can now snag him.

He's up on BBTS too for $100 in case these run out and the ebay prices skyrocket.

Does anyone really want to buy more than 5 of these? Or more than 1 for that matter?

Scalpers who wish to profit on the fandom through the secondary market do. They always do. 8-}

What Sabrblade said.

I bought 2, one to keep for myself and one to sell in the distant future.

With a decrease in value of at least 50% I hope? Reselling toys is no "get rich-quick" scheme

hmmm.. already brought one from BBTS at $100. is he worth getting the membership to get another? I kind of have a black prime collection going and one with the maketoys armor and one with out would be awesome. decisions. I really wish the club would just work with paypal.

Not really. Just like with a magazine subscription, the point of the subscription is (a) you know that you'll get every "issue" automatically and (b) you save a little money off the price of buying each "issue" separately. I don't think there was ever any promise that subscribers would be the only people allowed to buy these figures.

this is the figure I'd like from this year's run (although that Circuit still tempts me...and the price TFSource have him for makes resisting even harder) but $70 is still too much, especially with shipping and club membership on top. I'd ask someone to get me one if they're putting in an order but I'm struggling to see a deluxe with minimal paint apps being worth $70.

Ugh. I love the mold and the colours, but I can't afford it, nor can I justify that price for a deluxe.

I used to feel like I needed everything like this that they put out, but I'm actually happy that I passed on the subscription service. Maybe it's because I'm less of a completionist than I used to be or maybe it's just because I'm tired of tying so much money into everything the club does, all the while playing by their rules (such as give us a potload of money right away and we'll ship whenever we want)every time.
