Let's speculate about TF4 movie toys

What do you guys think we can expect in the new toys?
Will they simply be a continuation of the trilogy toys (in terms of design and engineering), or do you think Hasbro will sort of "start over" with this movie?
Do you think Hasbro will try to make the figures more simple in their designs and transformations? Didn't they acknowledge recently at a panel at BotCon or SDCC that the Movie trilogy figures were too complicated, too difficult to transform?
Do you think they'll try to introduce some new gimmick, like Auto-Morph, MechTech, Human Alliance, etc.? Do you think they'll BRING BACK any of those gimmicks? Do you think we'll see some combiners or gestalts?

Frankly, I'm predicting something along the lines of DOTM deluxe Bumblebee and Sideswipe. Intuitive and easier to transform, but still complex enough that it doesn't feel like an up-sized cyberverse toy.
But please, don't leave the whole roof hanging off the back! At least with Bee, they actually bother to fold it in half.
I've no idea about the gimmicks.
As for gestalts, that depends on what TF's are featured in the movie.

As was said back in 2007...
I predict Terminator endoskeletons with car vomit scattered on them

I hope they do keep up the simpler transformations. Nothing wrong with quick an dirty.
Other than that, I'd like them without gimmicks. Maybe a launching missile or something, but nothing beyond that.
Oh, and better plastic.

Based on what Hasbro said at Botcon, I am expecting larger deluxes with much simpler transformations. Voyagers will be even larger, probably around Ultra size, and still maintain good articulation while having simpler transformations. I am looking forward to the toys to see how they come out. Simpler transformations do make for fun toys and I think the tradeoffs will be worth it.

I predict...ugly as toys reflecting ugly ass designs. 100 versions of Bumble Bee and bunch of crap on the selves that won't make room for any good TF toys.

I predict that, in the first 6 months, we shall get at least 10 Bumblebee and Optimus figures each, not counting non-transforming dollar store figures.
I also predict that Wave 1 will shelfwarm after idiot retailers overstock on it, and that every wave after the 1st will have at least one Wave 1 or Wave 2 figure redeco in it.
I expect, with less certainty, that there shall be even more dumbed down transformations, and more dull gray plastic. Finally, I doubt that we will get a good Leader Class Megatron, though a gimmicky and oversimplified $30 Weaponizer-ish figure certainly isn't out of the question.
Oh, how I miss ROTF, with its maddeningly complex puzzle-transformations and mildly interesting redecos. I prefer over-complication over under-complication, and the more recent movie/Prime toys have felt too under-complicated.

I'm calling it now: they'll be made mostly of plastic.

Didn’t Michael Bay say that the Transformers were getting a new look and that there was a reason for their new look that would be explained? I am thinking that they are going to say something like the humidity in Earth’s atmosphere is causing issues after these six years and that the Transformers need more panels and areas covered (seems like a kind of boring explanation and I hope they do a better job, but that was all that I could think of). This will result in the toys not looking so different from all of the other toys and maybe looking more like Generations toys.
It has been speculated that the Stunticons will be in the movie, all of those expensive sports cars and the Motormaster truck, yeah I could see that. I think they will combine. I think they will be close enough to go on a Classics shelf. They have the info, I would think. They repainted Starscream, Jazz, Mixmaster, Devastator (the little one) in their G1 colors. They know what sells. If G1 similarity sells best then they will head in that direction.
I really like Generations Sandstorm. His transformation seems intuitive to me, relatively simple and not too complicated but not boringly simple either. I am thinking that is the way they are going to go with the new movie toys.

I predict a Bumblebee figure.
But seriously, I predict a bunch of crappy figures I don't care about but will pretend to care about when they are released.

I predict I will buy about 5 figures and regret buying 4 out of 5 of em.

I predict a decent toy line with ups and downs, wins and fails, a few failed attempts at what could have been something great, a cancelled figure or two that will kill it for me, and simpler transformations all the way through. Its just how things are. Nothing is perfect, we have sat through how many toy lines now? Alot of you act as though this is a recent trend for Has/Tak, but its not. Every line has its turds, gems, cancelled gems, and cancelled turds. This will be no different in that regard.
Quality on the other hand, I can agree on. Give us figures that aren't as hallow inside as FOC Jazz makes me feel and if they MUST be simpler, since thats a complaint from someone somewhere, make them at the very least on par with Prime in the accuracy/complexity level of things. Thats all I could expect, and if the majority sucks, again buy gems, avoid turds.

Terminator endoskeletons. Car vomit. That is all.

I think you said the same thing on the fist page of this thread.

My wishes:
Simple, but very clever and effective transformations, like with the FOC or TF Prime figures.
Sizes and plastic quality comparable to ROFT or the first Generations releases.
Worst case scenario:
Smallish transformers with cheap-ass, almost clear plastics with lots of gaping hollow holes everywhere. Transformations even simpler than Go Bots.

I'm just hoping they'll drop the stupid MECHTECH weapons. If they want to put some weapons or accessories with the figures then they should keep them show/movie-accurate and simple. Nothing wrong with simple NON-gimmicked weapons that are show-accurate (Like Bumblebee's twin-blasters in P:RiD line)
Cause the biggest killer for P:RiD Voyagers are those tragic weapons.
Without any personal experience myself I'd say that DOTM Shockwave might have been one of the few (if any) MECHTECHs that worked.

No one guessed "Dinobots"!
If there are Dinobot figures, those will be the ones to get from this line. I recently decided to sell off about half my Movie collection, so I'm going to be more picky with this line, but if there are Dinobots... I must have Dinobots.

The last round of movie toys were a little bit meh for me. I only picked up the Shockwave. Prior to that I bought a Soundwave.
If the Dinobot rumor is true, I'll definitely keep my eyes out for the toys. I'm just hoping that the Dinobots that are to be featured in the movie aren't some horrible bastardization of Grimlock, Slag (or Slug for FOC), Sludge and the rest of them.

Looking at some of the new vehicle designs, it makes me think of Transformers Prime.
I feel this movie definitely will be a reboot, and maybe geared more towards a younger audience. (T3 was a bit dark) Therefore maybe the designs will be more streamlined and accessible like Transformers Prime.
I would love if that were the case, then Movie Dinobots could live in my classics lineup.

It's definitely not. Check the movie subforum.

Well I did not mean a full reboot, but maybe more of a slight departure.
