Any problems with him yet? Seems like more than a few folks (including myself) have had some issues with the quality control on this toy.

And now that you have Metroplex, do you see yourself getting Fortress Maximus?

So far no issues but I am a little worried about the knees in the future. I do have the regular release version and not the SDCC one. I would love Fort Max just can hack that cost atm. I do hope that the next titan class will be Trypticon.

I have the Hasbro retail version, which I purchased from BBTS. The only issue I had was with the head transformation, but I think I figured out how to do it correctly without screwing up the way the helmet hinges on to the figure's head (which I posted in another topic on this board).

I can't see myself getting Fortress Maximus as a city-former (as opposed to the version in the IDW comic continuity). Any form of the figure I see is too expensive for what the figure offers, and I feel that it should offer more, other than being one of those holy grails of a G1 Transformers collection. The Fortress Maximus figure is the typical G1 brickformer, so it seems (never played with one in person).

Metroplex, on the other hand, I got for about $125 (including shipping) from BBTS. It is quite poseable for its size and has a lot of neat features, like flip-out cannons, lights and sound, moving eyes, a flip-down visor for those of us who liked the TV show's visor look, and of course a re-done Scamper.

I can see myself playing with the Metroplex figure a lot more than the Fortress Maximus figure. I find that's true for a lot of my G1 collection when compared to the more poseable toys that are prevalent in the modern era. I find the more-poseable toys just more fun.

The only thing I wish was better about the Metroplex figure is the lights functionality. I wish it was more like a Hess Truck, where I can switch the lights to be on all the time, that way the figure's eyes can glow and I can move the eyes, and actually enjoy that detail. Perhaps someday, I will modify the figure to do that, but for now I'll play with it as is (it's hard for me to justify modifying a figure I spent over $20 on, unless I can easily revert my changes).

My brother had Fort Max when we were kids. He is a giant brick but if you want that nostalgia then by all means get it. It is the apex of coolness that was transformers in the 80s but $300+ if it is worth it get it.

I got mine from BBTS but other than that I saw two at the Nellis AFB base exchange on Sat. I have not seen any where else in San Antonio yet.

I saw that too! Like some anime space cruiser or something. Neat.

Have we figured out what the red bars are on his helipad in city mode? I want the 3rd party guys to make some add-on towers, etc. And go!

You can plug the 2 black guns onto the top of the red gun, for a triad of death-dealing. Just fold the handles closed on the black guns and plug into the holes on the top of the red one.

With some of the issues I am reading about I am starting to have second thoughts about picking him up when I find him.

The red chest lamp on my SDCC variant was loose, just floating around inside. Then I actually took Metroplex apart piece by piece and had to glue the red lamp back on to his chest. Then of course, Scamper has 2 left thighs, which I cannot fix.

Too big! Need more shelfspace.

Only problem I've noticed are the leg joints, mine basically collapsed one time when I put pressure on the upper portions.

No QC problems with mine. Just that, like everyone else says, it would be nice if the knees were stiffer. It would also be nice if the ramp could actually reach the ground in city mode, but then I don't know how it would fit in his chest if it were that long.

The odd thing is that while the head and shoulder cannons can be manned by Legends figures, Scamper can't quite do it because his arms can't be posed to grab the handles.

But really overall I'm very happy with my Metroplex. I'd say don't be scared by the complaints.

Holy crap man this is bullsh*t! :BANG_HEAD: There is just no excuse period when expensive items like Masterpiece TF's or a Titan class fig like MP to have ANY flaws or issues. C'mon HasTak you wanna charge us what you will of our hard earned dollars fine. Just don't allow this kind of QC garbage to go on...hello...Hastak are you seeing this?

Oh well, I only hope when I get the Takara release it doesn't suffer the same crapolla. :VEHI:

Just picked up one from Costco...only issue I have noticed is he seems a bit wobbly. He has flopped backwards a few times. But that's it. I need to test the electronics to see if they work properly

Well after owing mine for 2 weeks I have only really one problem. I knew he was gonna be wobbly and top heavy based on customer reviews and that he's not much to look at in battle mode. I knew all that before buying metroplex. My only problem I have is that I have a bad issue with his red eye lens. It's suppose to roll up if you alter his antenna on his head but it doesn't work really well. The second problem with the same issue is that after folding his helmet forward and returning it back, the red lens seems to come loose and it's kind of just hanging half way below his eyes. I'm not really happy with that but looking at him from a slight distance it's not really noticeable.

I think the visor is pretty easy to remove. I'm planning on dismantling the head and do the exact same thing when I get home

What's his visor actually supposed to do? Lol and what's with the little switch on the back of his head? (I did the typical man thing and didn't read the instructions  )

The arrows on his landing strips in vehicle mode are kinda messed up on a lot of figures. One leg is supposed to be pointing out and one pointing in (matching the ones on his thighs). The arrows are molded in, so it's a part issue. Because the part is interchangeable on each leg ("out" and "in" can go on right or left leg), I think in manufacturing they just put a big pile of them there and grabbed whichever.

Some metros have both pointing out, some both pointing in, some one of each. It was even like that on the preview figures before they launched him.

It's a pretty minor cosmetic issue, but it's there. I figure the 'real' metro would be able to reverse them depending on whether he was launching or receiving fighters, and just got over it.
