Oh boy.........Gekisoumaru TF Go! #5
Posted: Sun Aug 25, 2013 4:56 amTomy......you guys are so weird! You release the Samurai team almost one after the other while the awesome (okay somewhat a misnomer) shinobi team, gets a staggered release 
Anyway, I just picked up the guy, the purple blue "lion" which all but sold out online. Heck, amiami had to cancel my order (for their backorder, the first time btw)for him.
Now on to the guy. In his anime shots, he looks very much like the Shinobi in, well Sega's Shinobi series...........aside from the big Daltanius/Predaking lion head on his chest. Toy wise on the other hand, well, detailed he may be, but it doesn't translate too well. He has spindly robo arms and the lion head makes him appear to be pregnant. ArrgH! What was Tomy thinking?!
By the by guys, this rant isn't to disparage the fig because I actually like it. Yeah, really! despite sounding this way.....BECAUSE, based on his half transformed mode I did for his "chojin gatai" form, just like his Samurai team brothers. he really looks awesome (his Shinobi head looks like a mix of Ryu Hayabusa's mask (Ninja Gaiden) cum Starsaber/Optimus Prime)!
On his accessories, the twin swords + tail handle/hilt/whip are way much harder than the wobbly swords of the samurai team. Though I still wished it was chromed like that of the sentai robots of Bandai.
Now, the wait for the bird mech # Go! #10 can't end too early enough
The teams were meant to be played merged in super robot mode and not individual pieces. Kind of like Fire Convoy during the RID run. The figures are just too, well out of proportion as they were indeed designed to be parts of a whole.
