Question about MP Soundwave accessories

I got MP SW this weekend!

Rumble and Frenzy's ground-pounders (what do they call them?) come with these little end-cap things that they snap into. Each one looks like two little cups attached together, and has a small clip that looks like it's intended to clip onto something. I'm guessing maybe it clips onto SW somewhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about and can anyone tell me what they're for?

Bonus question: Why is Frenzy lavender instead of blue?

I read that, but it doesn't explain exactly where or how they clip on. I've been playing around with it, but can't find any way to clip them onto SW.

I don't have my Masterpiece Soundwave in hand yet, but if I recall from Peaugh's YouTube review of the Japanese release several months back, the pistons can be clipped together via those pieces you've described (two little cups or caps joined together like an "8") and then attached (kind of) to Rumble's and Frenzy's backs for storage.

That's it! It fits perfectly into Rumble's/Frenzy's back. Thanks! No wonder I couldn't find a place for them to clip onto SW.

Thanks, guys. The Hasbro instructions are really skimpy. They hardly mention the accessories. It's odd that Hasbro would skimp on the instructions for a Masterpiece, when the recent trend has been towards larger, more complete instruction sheets.

OK, another question:

The mini Megatron gun: the grip separates into two parts that slide apart along a diagonal seam. What is the point of this?

Well, the gun is just a slightly modified version of the Megatron accessory that originally came with the MP-1 Masterpiece Optimus Prime, and that was necessary for the handle to fit into that figure's hand. Or into a Masterpiece Seeker's hand. It makes for quite a versatile accessory that can be shared by many Masterpiece figures.

I've got my Starscream holding mine, as Soundwave's busy with his own gun in one hand, and Lazerbeak in the other hand, er... on the other arm.

(We'll just ignore the anachronism of Starscream wearing his coronation gear while holding Megatron... also while Megatron is standing right there! Hey, it looks cool! So there.)

Hasbro's back to miser mode

As for the Megatron gun, its the same from the MP-01. The hands are too big to simulate holding a real (okay I'm stretching it) hand held gun on MP scale. So in order to fit, they had to do the sliding gimmick.

Talk about confusing

So it's the same Megatron gun? A shame, I kinda hoped it would have been a new one, is the lower part of the handle still made from that weird rubber? Because one of mine has already deteriorated, the other is still in storage so it might have died too.

I'm not familiar with the old one, but the entire gun seems to be made from hard plastic. None of it feels soft or rubbery to me.

Well, to be exact, Tomy skipped the little red paint dot on the silencer piece that was present in MP-01.

Well, they did remake the stock extension. It now has two joints in it rather then just one. As to if the new one is more durable then the original... Well, time will tell.

I had my MP-1 mold's Megatron's stock extension break, myself, in much the same way that seems all to common. I recently finally got around to gluing it back together. Alas, it seems that since when it broke, the barrel extension went missing. I hope it turns up, so I can do some awesome duel-Megatron wielding action.

Yes I too was confused by a few accessories in the Hasbro box due to the less than comprehensive instruction leaflet. There's no mention of how these pile driver 'storage pods' interact with Soundwave, Rumble and Frenzy. I also noticed they don't mention, the storage in areas in Soundwave's feet or indeed anything about Rumble/Frenzy's weaponry! In fact the instruction make no mention of any accessories other than Soundwave's blaster and shoulder cannon and the pile drivers. You're forced to look at the back of the box, guess and search the internet for answers!

Oh well, hardly a big deal when the figure/package itself is so splendid!
