Contructbots General

Hey I didn't see a thread for Contructbots already so I thought I'd make one.

So I was at my local Wal-mart and saw that the Contructbots were finally in stock. I've been excited for them since the big Botcon reveal. I picked up basic Ironhide and Starscream as well as Elite Wheeljack and Soundwave. I put Ironhide and Starscream together first and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the robot to come out of the small box. I was slightly less amused to find the Wheeljack and Soundwave were the exact same size.

As toys they are decently fun to build, about 10 minutes per build. Each one is quicker than the last due to the skeleton they all share.

I've included some pictures of the figures for... an arbitrary reason I'm sure.

For 12 dollars you buy a figure the size of a voyager.

And for three dollars more you get some extra weapons and accessories.

I think Soundwave is my favourite of the bunch, definitely the best silhouette.

And Starscream rounds of the bunch. Only downside, and QC issue I've found, I the only half of Starscream's helmet is painted.

All 'n all not a bad entry into a new line of toys. I haven't really messed around with them yet to make my own robot or anything but will soon. I look forward to what else this line will offer down the road once they've left the domain of planes and cars. I would really like to see a Warpath eventually.

I LOVE them too. The Optimus/Megatron 2 pack is really worth it because of all the extra goodies. My Starscream is now perfect because of Meg's spare parts.
BTW every single Starscream have that same painting mistake on the head. I dont mind because it make him special.
Have some pictures of my light custom:

My only wish would be to have more repaints of the existing sets. You know, for making custom and kitbash with colors that match.

This is only the first wave, I'm sure we'll have the typical lineup of seekers in no time.

We've got a Thundercracker on the way. But agreed. Like I say every time I hear the word "Construct-Bot", I feel like they should release "armor sets", where you get pieces from other sets, but colored differently. So for example, me with my love of my fanfiction characters, I would need a straight-up green and black Soundwave, olive-green tank bits, and a black, brown, and purple Starscream in order to make what I want. But obviously, most of those parts aren't in those colors I need, so unless we get something like that, I would be forced to spend more money than I'd like to and repaint it myself.

I see what you're saying, like a mixed bag of 30-50 assorted parts in assorted colours?

Not exactly what you had in mind I guess :P
But thats probably the closest we'd get to a fully developed create-your-own-bot sorta deal.
