Hi, Just wanted to know if I should purchase the 3 MP's Prowl, Smokescreen and Bluestreak by Takara, as I would be assuming that Hasbro's version would be cheaper, therefore wait for their release??? Thanks.

It's possible, but Hasbro would have to secure (i.e. negotiate and pay for) the rights to release them since they use official/real life alt modes (just like Lambor/Sideswipe).

I haven't heard anything about it yet, but it sure would be nice for the collectors like yourself who are concerned about import pricing.

So far the only new Hasbro MPs I'm aware of are Soundwave (which includes all his cassettes in one package instead of selling them in 2 packs like Takara did) and Acid Storm (the green MP Seeker repaint) which Takara didn't do a version of which is a repaint of the same mold Hasbro used for their fairly recent Thundercracker release.

Here's hoping they throw some of that movie money they've got at getting the licenses for the MP Autobot cars because I know tons of collectors would go nuts over them and can't quite afford or justify paying the high Takara import pricetag.

Based on what they did with MP Soundwave, I can imagine Hasbro waiting for Bumblebee and Wheeljack to appear as well and then releasing box sets containing 3 Autobot cars each for around the same price point as Soundwave. Hopefully!

That would be hardcore.

I doubt that Hasbro is going to be willing to pay the licensing fees.
