i have my ths-02 and ths-02b and roller is awesome, he has a steering gimmick that moves all the wheels and looks solid.... then we have the cheap after thought of mp-10 roller... why for the premium we paid, did takara go and make that item junk?

Probably because no one really cares about Roller :P?

Just kidding.

I don't think he's junk. He just doesn't have the same gimmick is all. He still has that folding panel that allows him to carry Prime's gun and he can accommodate Spike and all. I think MP-10's Roller works just fine, but of course, I'm certainly biased since I really only care about Optimus.

There is a K.O. version of an upscale THS-02 trailer with an upscale 6 wheeled drive Roller. But that was released years ago.

This reminded me that I have a Roller that transforms, Battle Roller I think it was called. Have to dig that out and see how it scales with MP10.

You didn't get "ripped". Takara or Hasbro could have made a MP Roller just like the THS one, but it would have cost more, so you would have paid more. You got what you paid for.

Ok, there's a fine line between "a nice extra to have" and "completely necessary or it's RUINED FOREVER" for every fan. For me, the steering wheels for Roller fall under the former, feel free to disagree.

I beg to agree JZGR. That would have added another cost to the already wallet bleeding price.

I don't care that MP Rollar has fixed wheels. I don't push him around the floor making engine noises so he suits me fine.

Not even taken mine out of the box! Barely enough room for the things I WANT to display.

Exactly. Remember that the original MP-01 that came out with the trailer was absurdly expensive. It was what, 400$+?
I bought the KO verstion of the MP-01 trailer and even that set me around 120$ shipped!

So, 300$ for Takara MP-10 and 100 ridiculous dollars for the Hasbro one is sure to skip on some gimmicks. And without regrets. Because honestly, not many care about a deluxe Roller.

Do I think we "got ripped" on Roller? No, not really. I think he's a decent Roller. Would it have been nice if he had the extra articulation in the wheels? Sure, it was a kind of cool little extra on the Hybrid Roller. But did I expect it, or am I put off at the exclusion of it? No, not at all.

I was, I will admit, disappointed at the lack of a fuel pump, which is the only thing stopping this Roller from being a home run. But I suppose I could live with it...
