Don’t judge. You can’t judge, not in this game, with its myriad population of collectors and enthusiasts. There will be personal admissions of guilt and opportunities for ridicule and vigorous head-shaking, but you can save your pity for those who don’t see what they are doing to themselves and aren’t having fun. Feel free to spend your 2 cents, pence or vehemence in condemning someone who is “not doing it right”, who is not as enlightened as you, but the enthusiasm, enjoyment and pleasure are real, as real as the mentality itself. This is my hobby, my problem, and it follows me everywhere.

Hehe, I can definitely relate. When I used to collect comics long long ago I had to have every variant cover. Back when I used to listen to Insane Clown Posse I had to have every single album cover variant they came out with. Now that I collect TFs, there are certain types I always have to have all variants of (see Beast Wars, both US and Japanese and repaints and oddly colored/off colored Transmetal variants and Universe and Armada recolors/retools and of course the 3H Botcon exclusives etc.).

And while I do not have them all, I do have most of the various "Classics" Seeker variants/repaints which have emerged over the past several years in search of that "perfect" set of G1 classics Seekers (knowing my luck Takara will reinvent the Seekers with a far superior mold sometime soon and I'll have to do it all over again :P).

Oh, and I've been seriously eyeballing that blue Diaclone "Trailbreaker" (before he was called Trailbreaker) and his much harder to find yellow counterpart and I swear that someday I WILL own a red Sunstreaker just because...IT'S A RED SUNSTREAKER!!!!!!! :D
