Hi fellow transformer fans,
I recently came into posession of a VGC Headmaster G1 Weirdwolf which the seller wasn't sure was a fake. The inner packaging was 100% repro it was stapled in with no signs of tape damage at all.

So is it or not?

any help would be much appreciated, it is stamped Hasbro Takara 1986

I did some googling, and you have every reason to be worried. However, there are a few tell-tales separating the KO from the real thing:

- First off, the stickers. The KO does not have the rubsign preapplied nor the :CON: on the shoulder.
- The font is off on the KO, especially the "R" (too short) and the "O".
- The grid on the box completely disappears on top on the KO, on the original it's still barely visible. The same goes for the vents on Weirdwolf's shoulder, as if the brightness level is set too low.

More on the figure itself:

- Stat readout is off. it's supposed to be 6, 6, 10, on the fake it's 4, 4, 4.
- The springs in the tumbler are too strong, and will eject Monzo at the slightest touch.

Comparing it to what you have... crud, looks like you have a KO. :(

I suspected as much, must say though good quality for a KO though.
Thanks anyway, my sadness is only lightened by my Botcon banzaitron I now have in my possession.

K.O. There's been a lot of Weirdwolf's circulating nearly a year.
