The Autobase Aichi Facebook page has uploaded an album of the upcoming Generations Wave 02 Deluxe class (Armada) Starscream figure, due in 2014! The figure is shown in comparison to his original Armada incarnation, and in its packaging which includes the IDW comic Dark Cybertron 1 of 12. Check out the mirrored images below.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes Yes!!!
It looks just as fantastic as it did in the in-package and stock photos.
A great toy for the best incarnation of Starscream in this brand's history.

Not perfect, but not bad! I wish his chest had some black on it like the original, or more grey or something, but I'm definitely still picking him up.

Come on, the most obvious.

I'm taking a little bit of a siesta, and all of a sudden, I get an email from Va'al. "Go beserk," he says. "Ugh, God damn Va'al, don't you see I'm trying to-"
Awwww, yiss. Mutha. ******'. Armada Starscream.
I thought I saw what appeared to be the stems of missiles in his back assembly.
Seriously can not wait for this figure. Just hope and pray that a Thundercracker, Skywarp, and maybe even Ramjet will come out of this.

THIS is one TF that I will NOT wait for a sale to pick up if I ever find it in store.

If we do get a Skywarp, pray he has the mouthplate and purple head fin.

And VTOL emplacements on his shin fins.
If they don't even bother to retool him, it's no big loss to me. I'm not particularly partial to Armada Skywarp, less so than Starscream and the toy-bio character of Thundercracker.

Awww yeah..I want two. I also will compare him to Micron Legend Starscream (yes he is different). I'll post pics when I get him.

I'm definitely picking this one up, but he does seem somewhat... bland. I don't know if it's the orange-red plastic, or what, but I think a few more black paint apps would help break up the deco a bit.

Dammit, I'm completely torn. I love the body style, the whole design just screams "BUY ME!" but that paint job just sucks ass. I'm talking like... Unicron size ass here. How can something be so awesome and so horrendously ugly at the same time.
If I do get this it will most certainly be the last figure out of this wave that I pick up and I'll be damned if I'm paying full price for it. I really DO want it but at the same time I don't. This blows. I've never been so conflicted over a figure before.

You can wait it out until we get Takara pics. I'm sure they'll have a spiffy (though not necessarily better) deco.
Huzzah expensive alternatives!

I never watched any of the Unicron Trilogy, so I have no attachment to the original Armada Starscream, but even if I had, I don't know that I'll be picking this up. It does look a little bland, plus the transformation seems a little lazy. If it were ever at a big discount, maybe...but it just doesn't appeal to me. More for all of you, then!

The tiny size and terrible plastic colors make me wanna pass this altogether. The horribly stunted plastic-to-dollar ratio on this isn't even worth importing a better paint job. Only thing worthwhile about him is the head sculpt.
I'm still amazed at how they keep rising the price and lowering the size of deluxes, where voyagers can get bigger and the price stays the same.

Heh, kinda pits things in perspective.
But anyway, I am loving this figure. I think it's neat that they put some Powerlinx pegs on him. As far as paint apps go, that's nothin' a few touch-ups won't fix.
I could totally see Hasbro repainting this into Jetfire. Can't say I think it'd work, but with the "boosters" on the alt-mode as such, I could see them attempting it.

Honestly I would rather not have launching missiles in exchange to have the black shoulder bits be able to fold down independently of the rest of the 'backpack.'

I agree. With a little modding, it appears you may be able to remove the orange bits.

Finally. I thought I was alone and losing my mind by reading everyone's comments. Glad to know I'm not. Alone, I mean

Oh good, I thought I was the only one.
To me this looks like the emperor got new clothes, but no one else has noticed he's naked.

it would be great to have a thundercracker and a Skywarp version of this fabulous toy... which may occur in a botcon set, like they did with the game of deception in 2007

My 1st thought was a popular Road House line.
At 1st I liked it, until they got to the comparison pix with the original. It showed just how small and bland the new version really is. I thought about getting it, but now I might pass. The only improvement it has over the original is you can fold down the back. That always bothered me about Armada Starscream. I'll have to wait until I have it in-hand to decide.

I like it. I honestly do. But I can't pretend I wish it were better. Both these photos and the in-package images recently seen show him to have a fairly pale shade of red plastic, and as always I feel like there's a lack of paint apps. I can't say I'm thrilled by the abundance of transparent orange plastic either. But I truthfully don't think the design could be better. I'll definitely pick one up, if only to experiment with.

can't say anything about the quality of the toy itself, but the deco... he just looks so bland compared to the original. he's almost entirely pale red, while the original looks much richer and colorful
