I remember when MP Sideswipe came out there were problems with the waist during transformation. Was this ever corrected by Takara? Also, I have been looking to buy a Sideswipe, and I came up on 2 versions. 1 is sold in car mode in package, the other in robot mode in package. is there a difference between the 2?

I got what I paid for with my MP Sideswipe as I believe it to have been a cheeky 'factory reject' which had its waist pinned in the wrong way around, so I had to knock that pin out and swap it back!

I did here about there being two types of packaging as you mentioned, but never saw the package with robot mode?

They look the same on the outside, it's just the figure is in robot mode inside, and I'm guessing then the inner bubble is different.

Also, what about the red Alert repaint? Did that have any problems?

Not sure about the official one as I picked up the KO!

I'm thinking about getting 1 for a Christmas present for someone, I'd rather get the original.

I read about some people complaining about this when Sideswipe was 1st released. I wasn't sure if it was a common or recurring problem.
