Return of the King, the return of Starscream, the return of MP-11. For everyone who originally missed out on Takara Tomy’s Transformers Masterpiece Starscream when it was re-tooled as MP-11 (“What do I need with another MP Starscream?”) and realised in time what a sore omission it turned out to be in their Masterpiece collecting, Hasbro Asia have recently reissued MP-11 with another run due early in 2014. Online images rarely do this magnificent creation justice, so having finally added him to the MP shelf, I can comfortably say what others have said for months – I will never need another G1 Starscream.

Starscream - don't disrupt his coronation !

I've really enjoyed your articles on the new MP series and I couldn't agree more with your sentiments about them. They are truly something to behold once you get them in hand and what Hasbro and Takara are doing here for us die-hard G1 fans is absolutely unprecedented. They're hitting homeruns constantly and are on pace to have collectors like us with displays of our favorite heroes and villains in their definitive forms over the next few years, something that, no matter how neat they may look, no Classics/Generations collection can touch in my opinion. Those other figures 'look like' these characters, but the MPs 'ARE' these characters. It still boggles my mind every time I look over at my MP display just how absolutely perfect these things are. I never thought it could be possible to pull off the amazing feats of engineering that they have, yet all I need do is glance at my MP shelf to see that dreams can become reality.

Starscream then Soundwave, New Masterpiece has 2, BUT, we MUST have Megatron

Then get Shockwave, the Triple Changer 'Cons, Devastator in pieces and/or together.

Later, Galvatron, Cyclonus, and Scourge, rounding up with Tripticon.

I would buy every, single, one of these. For me, this is just the start, as there are many more, Autobots included as well

If they create more games for mobile & console/PC/Mac. More digital shows for streaming & purchase via download or hardcopy. As well as continuing the comics with IDW. Transformers in the digital age could find a MUCH larger audience then with CN & the Hub could ever reach. Of course, this is the plan. Which is why, I hope they continue to revisit the G1 characters, they're still capable of selling to established buyers & making new fans.

Forgive me if this was already discussed, I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.

But was the MP-11 Masterpiece Starscream supposed to come with a switchable face? I'm looking at the back of the box for it and in one picture, the figure has a different face.

It's the picture of Starscream with the chest missiles revealed. I could swear he is smiling in that picture. Am I seeing things?
