Noob Takara Masterpiece questions.

Hey, gang!

I've bought Hasbro MP's before, but I just recently got my first Takara MP.

Bluestreak!!

As he was my first Gen1 back in the 80's, it seemed appropriate.
and he's freakin AWESOME!!! =DD

but...

Questions arise!

1. Which MP's come with the snazzy collector coins?

2. I can't really read Japanese, so I've no clue what the "redemption code" pamphlet enclosed is for.
says to go to http://www.takaratomyfans.com and then I see a screen where I can type the code it, but
for the life of me have no idea what it's about...and as I'm in the US, I'm sure it's pointless anyway.

but still, curiosity remains! ;D

thanks!

If you pre-order a Masterpiece, you will likely have a coin come with them, sometimes. The bots with coins so far are and they are only with the Takara versions:

MP-9 Hot Rod/Rodimus
MP-10 Optimus Prime
MP-11 Starscream
MP-11S Sunstorm
MP-12 Sideswipe
MP-13 Soundwave
MP-14 Red Alert
MP-15 Ravage and Rumble
MP-16 Frenzy and Buzzsaw
MP-17 Prowl
MP-18 Bluestreak
MP-19 Smokescreen

Encore-20 Devastator
Reissue Sixshot

If you can't get the coins via pre-order, you might be able to get the coins separately from Ebay or online retailers, maybe.

Yea, if you want the coins, ebay is full of them. They usually go for between 10-20 dollars depending on which one you're looking at.

cool. Thanks!

Any idea about the redemption code (on a little one sheet paper flier) that come with the figures, that direct you to the takaratomyfans.com website? Maybe it's just a temporary thing with this current shipment. I assume it's for something useless that probably doesn't work in the US anyway...but just wondered if anyone knew.

From what I can tell with the codes received with Japanese Transformers, they're a Japan only offer where you can win a goodie bag. It only accepts Japanese addresses by the looks of it, pity.

Yeah, the codes are just to sign up for Japanese membership. It doesn't do anything, sadly. Wish it was similar to the old days where the points earn you something.

MP-10B Black Convoy re-release had a coin as well, though the first release didn't come with it.

The coins come from TakaraTomy's product that is distributed by Hasbro Asia in Asian territories excluding Japan.

So the actual Japanese versions that are in Japan don't come with the coin, but they do if they come from China or Malaysia for example.
