MP Reflector

I probably just set off a bunch of alarms, and I apologize in advance that this is NOT an announcement of MP Reflector.

That said, what do folks think the possibility is of getting this guy in the next year or two? MP Megatron will be difficult to both engineer and ship to the US, and MP Shockwave may still be pending whatever legal woes Takara has with the Korean company that owns the copyright on the design. Barring an MP-11 molded Skywarp, that leaves Reflector as one of the last remaining 1984 Decepticons, right?

Character wise, I like Refelctor, and would welcome the toy.

I'd be scarred execution wise by Takara though. The bot modes would be awesome, but Takara likes to throw paint on EVERYTHING, even places where it shouldn't be. Paint chips and wears off over time. I imagine I would be sweating trying to transform it every time. That is why the thought of a Takara MP Refelector or a combiner kind of scares me

Refelector is high on my want list though, but I think the Insecticons are even higher!

MP would be cool but even just a release of the G1 molds would be great.
Those PE sets really got eaten up when they were put out, so the demand is there.

There was me thinking this was a new 3rd Party release! ;)

Looking through my list of G1 screened characters...
http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=96702&p=1535990#p1535990
A Leader, 3 Seekers, 3 Coneheads, 3 Generic Seekers, 3 Insecticons, 6 Constructicons, 1 Comms Specialist & 4 Spys, 1 Camera and 1 Military Opps Commander make up the '84 Decepticons.

So far we have had...
MP Megatron
MP Starscream
MP Skywarp
MP Thundercracker
MP Sunstorm
MP Acid Storm
MP Soundwave w/Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy & Buzzsaw

We could also include...
FansToys Quakewave as MP Shockwave
iGear Jet as MP Ramjet
iGear Elegy as MP Dirge
iGear Attack as MP Thrust
iGear Lightning as MP Generic Blue Seeker

That just leaves Reflector, the Insecticons and the Constructicons for the MP treatment but I doubt a MP Devy will see a release?
Some Masterpiece Insecticons would be nice! :CON:

This will be interesting to see, since the toon had tree identical bots while the toy was three distinct individuals with their own personalities and you know completely different designs.

I would welcome it but I feel that Reflector isn't that high up on their list. However, with that said - I find it really interesting that Reflector is showing up twice recently after 20+ years - as target master for some upcoming legend and also as a possible repaint of the Preceptor generations mold. So obviously Hasbro hasn't forgotten his name.

Repaint of Perceptor? Can they just make a new mold and stop these needless repaints.

I know, right! It would be very interesting. Ideally, if they made it, they would take cues from the cartoon and give us 3 near identical 'Cons (or at least, that's what I would like to see).

I'm sure it's not high on their list, but I'm still crossing my fingers. After MP BB, we'll have 8 Autobot cars (if they repaint BB as Cliffjumper, we'll have 9). I'd just like to see some Decepticon troop builders of comparable size.

The idea of Transformers is virtually predicated on repaints...

I remember talk of the Perceptor/Reflector repaint a while back but I think they dropped that idea.

Personally, I think Botcon should pick up the ball and do the Perceptor repaint in a three pack, since Reflector can get away with being three identical toys.

I'd buy them. I'd buy them hard.

Yea, me too, maybe a few small things that remind of the toys, but it should be as close to the cartoon as possible.

And yea, what happened with the Reflector repaint from RTS Perceptor? I mean they announced it back then when they revealed the original toy, that they made a head based on MAgnificus and planned on using that for the Reflector repaint.

The RTS Perceptor mold is so awesome and versitile, it works as Perceptor, Soundwave, Reflector, Magnificus heck it could work as G1 Stalker and Cybertron Cannonball.
It's a wonder HAsbro hasn't milked this mold.

IIRC RtS Reflector was only hinted towards as a possibility. Hasbro never actually announced the figure. I still him as a possible Troop Builder for a BotCon set, two with regular Perceptor heads, one with alternate (Magnificus) head.

I'm not big on Reflector but i'd certainly welcome an MP version wholeheartedly.
My mind races with all the possibilities of good poses for display of the three in their bot modes.

I'd probably never have them in camera mode. I more often than not display my combiner TF's in team mode mostly.

Those PE sets really got eaten up when they were put out, so the demand is there.

I picked up the PE Reflector set (the toy coloured one, after much debate on getting them because of how tiny they are) not because of any love for the character, but mainly because it looked like a damn fine toy with bajillions of options. I'm not sure an official MP version would have that going for it. I'd rather that those folks KOing the PE version (or Perfect Effect themselves even!) upscaled the set to Scout/Deluxe size so the bots fit better with the rest of my Classics Decepticons. An old-Deluxe size would possibly be able to double as a MP Scout-size, like people are expecting with the upcoming Bumblebee compared to the recent Autobot cars.

That would be cool. I think Hasbro needs to get out the gate and get the jump on 3P. They originated Transformers why should they now become imitators.
