Transformers: Rescue Bots Bumblebee Rescue Guard with Growler and Sergeant Slobber Found at Retail

Thanks to a sighting from our very own Podmaster of the Podcasters ScottyP, we have a new sighting for a unique toy with one of the greatest names in Transformers history. The new toy in question is Rescue Bots Bumblebee Rescue Guard with his little pals Growler the K-9 bot, and Sergeant Slobber(!!). This set of figures was spotted at the Target in Apex, North Carolina for the price of $29.99. With as long as Rescue Bots has been going, and with the way it plans to keep going thanks to toys and the new Rescue Bots Academy set to come out, it is really cool to see new toys and new character keep finding their way to us.

Of note with this new figure, these are not your normal Rescue Bot sized figure. ScottyP took note of the face that Growler and Sergeant Slobber are about twice the size of the normal Rescue Bots minicons, so these are toys with some mass to them.

Check out the image below, and let us know if you intend to hunt down these Rescue Bots!

New Transformers: Rescue Bots Blind Bags Found at Retail Revealing Full Assortment

SDCC 2018 revealed that we would be getting new Transformers blind bags from Hasbro, specifically from Rescue Bots. Only a few bots were shown on display but now that they have been found in both the US and Canadian Walmarts. The assortment includes 2 of Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Heatwave, Blades, Chase, Boulder, Blurr, and Quickshadow. The arms seem to be interchangeable between the two models. These blind bags are $2.88 in the US and $4.94 in Canada.

There is a generous window in the back where you can get a pretty good idea as to which character you are getting. You can always feel around the bag to know which version it is due to the different accessories yielded between the same characters.

Poor guy always seems to get the short end of the stick. Even in the show itself, he got basically no screen time compared to Blurr, Quickshadow, or even High Tide.

In Hand Images of Transformers: Rescue Bots Blind Bag Toys Showcasing Arm Swapping Gimmick

The new Transformers: Rescue Bots "blind bags" are out and while they are non transforming, they did have the semblance of a gimmick. Now, thanks to netkid, who posted in hand images on the TFW boards, we have a good look at the arm swapping gimmick this set promotes.

I have both Primes and Blades(I haven't opened him yet).

Boxes have 1 of each figure. Both figures of a character is the same design but each are in a uniquely sculpted pose, so swapping arms between them to get different poses/looks is encouraged.

Each bag has a small clear window to see what figure is inside, if you are looking for a particular one.

That... uh, that is a Heavy Duty Vegetation Trimmer. Useful for times when the People of Griffen Rock foeget why super charging Miracle Grow is a bad idea, like the Sky Forest Fiasco...

Yeah...

It's a letter opener. On weekends he volunteers at the local nursing home and reads the old folks their mail.

have to buy two of the same character just to swap arms rather than just have basic articulation and a removable weapon. meh.

I think you can swap arms across the line with different characters.

It looks like if you made a nice straight and clean cut in the middle of that "arm bar" you would end up with a pair of slightly more pose-able arms, and have more arm mixing options. Which might lead to some fun/interesting combinations.

Looks like they retooled Blade's chest to remove the sculpted symbol, and strangely the original Boulder is the more accurate one.

They're still not great. If you want a show-accurate set, then I recommend going for the 4-pack (Griffin Rock Rescue Team set). We got those for my young boy and they look heaps better than these.

We'll, I WAS going to skip the entire Rescue Bots line. With good reason too! It didn't appeal to me. Nor was it intended to. But now I need that dragon. Lookit him! He's adorable! Damn you, Hasbro! Stop taking your toy lines to new and fun places!

They probably didn’t retool that Dinobot Heatwave. It’s very easy to break.
