Considering all the Beast Wars love from the Generations line this year...

...Who's up for Hasbro taking a second go at some of the other Beast Wars "updates" we've gotten over the past several years? I'd love to see Universe 2008 Dinobot with a screen-accurate deco (and not pay hundreds of dollars in the aftermarket for the TakaraTomy version). How about a redo of the Beast Wars 10th Deluxe Optimus Primal and Megatron, either with more screen-accurate first season decos, or perhaps proper Transmetal decos to compliment their more techno-organic designs? Finally, Universe 2008 Cheetor was pretty solid as far as his deco, so how about a repaint as Tigatron? Maybe these could be a set of exclusive "premium" versions a la the Universe 2008 assortment of deluxes sold on HasbroToyShop.com?

Yes, but I'd go for the Robotmasters Optimus Primal over the techno-organic one. Seems like a better fit in the context of the Generations Maximals we have - Rhinox, Rattrap, Cheetor, and Dinobot.

I'm watching Beast Wars again and I vote for the entire cast, with a redo for Cheetor. Let's continue from Rattrap with Blackarachnia. And then Tarantulas and (drumroll) Terrorsaur.

20th anniverary's in two years. Perfect time to do something about 'em.

Blackarachnia, Scorponok, Terrorsaur, Tarantulas, Airrazor, and a new Cheetor should make me happy. I only really want the full season one cast.

For repaints, the 10th anniversary Megatron done right this time. Also, make a Tigatron out of a new Cheetor.

Nice to see some Beast Wars enthusiasm!

After actually looking at the Universe 2008 Cheetor mold on my shelf, I realized he'd need some serious retooling to make a decent tiger mode for Tigatron. I forgot just how much more appropriately cheetah-proportioned the figure was compared to the original mold from Beast Wars.

I'd really like a transmetal 2 Dinobot.

I want new versions of Longrack and B'Boom. They had awesome alt modes but horrendous transformations and awkward bot modes. I'd love a new giraffe and mandrill to go with Rhinox and Cheetor.

The entire cartoon cast, including the upgraded bodies, in an MP spin off line.
Failing that, non-transforming show accurate super articulated and detailed action figures.

Of course all to scale with each other.

Non show characters I would like updates of would be: Insecticon, oh wait there are too many to count, I freaking loved the Beast Wars toys.

Yea I know, will never happen :(

I'm really on the fence about importing the Takara United repaints of Primal and Megatron. I'm sure If I do, an official Generations version of both will come out.

I totally missed out on the original versions of these, but got the United ones. I'm not sure they're necessarily the most screen accurate toys you could get, but they're both pretty cool. Primal has quite an interesting transformation, even if it's not overly complex. Megatron just oozes character and hilarious Cyber Planet Key insertion. I think TFSource has them marked down in price, so I'd recommend them.

I was always more of a fan of the Transmetal bots, but there were quite a few really fun non-show toys from the first year or so. The original Cybershark, the Squid-boy I always forget the name of, etc. I really didn't like TM2 Cheetor, but absolutely love the original Transmetal design. I'd be quite happy for a new mold of that design, and Hasbro can repaint and retool it into every character with a feline alt mode ever. A new TM Tarantulas would be fantastic too. The club giving us Protoform X probably means no new Rampage, but...maybe Rampage is a different kettle of cyberfish? I'm hopeful, but not expecting anything.

Can anyone tell me more about the Robotmasters versions of Optimus Primal and Megatron (or their Telemocha repaints)? I'm especially curious as to what (modern) size class they would fall in to.

Deluxe. They're not big enough to be Voyagers.

And speaking as someone who has them, they're actually kinda underwhelming in hand. Especially Megatron who's arms are on different hights, so his tail arm is lower as his head arm.
The detailing on them isn't as fantastic as it could be, and yea they're kinda odd to be honest.
They do have great paint apps though.

Agreed. Many of those figures aren't very close to being show accurate, which is kind of a plus in a way. For example, if they did make a new Scorponok then the original figure could still be a viable different character in anyone's collection, specially with the mutant head displayed(which I prefer actually).

I would also like them to remold/repaint the existing Classics Dinobot mold. The Takara paint job proves the mold can look good in the proper colors, but the weapons and the arms(which I think are an eyesore in beast mode) could be done better.

As for Transmetal and Transmetal 2's, the figures are pretty show accurate as is, and I'd actually prefer a re-release of those figures as opposed to a whole new mold.

All right, I'll pass on them. The paint apps do look great, but I'll stick to the 10th Anniversary/United figures until something new and better comes along (at the Voyager size class, I would hope).
