30th Anniversary Leader Class Jetfire and Megatron - New G1 style molds?

So Daimchoc posted this on his facebook page:
The upcoming 30th Anniversary Leader Jetfire. Jet mode will be based on the G1 Toy and has the boosters. Yeah, looks like the Valkyrie. Robot mode will be based on the cartoon look. White and red colors, new mold. It'll have the cartoon face and a hybrid style face mask.

For now, please take this with a grain of salt.

EDIT: This came from a reliable source who's seen it.

And he's updated that Megatron will be a Tank in G1 Colours.

I for one, am stoked. With luck we'll see pics during Toy Fair on the 16th-19th.

So not a repaint of ol' Grandpa Blackbird, then. Suppose it means the alleged Leader Megatron isn't a Movie repaint either.

Hmm, I really thought they were gonna save the true G1 Jetfire for the Masterpiece line. But this will do.

I hope this is true. If done correctly, could be a pretty cool stand-in for a Masterpiece.

This works for classics too. Cartoon Skyfire was pretty tall...

That's what I'll be using him for. Classics Jetfire has been on my shelf longer than almost every other figure I own, but I look forward to replacing him.

Wow, I was expecting the worst, and sounds like we are getting the best possible scenario!!!!

My question now is, what is the size of a Leader Class these days? It fluctuates...

Ideally for me, Megatron would be MP-10 size exactly, and Jetfire would possibly a head or two smaller than that to be perfect scale for classics...would Ultra class be a better term for Jetfire???

I have Leader Class Cybertron Galvatron displayed next to Masterpiece Soundwave, and he's about two heads taller - here's hoping the new Megatron will be within a couple of millimeters of that.

Completely excited for Jetfire. Like I said on Facebook, it would be nice, not having Universe Treadbolt shoehorned in the Classics shelf as cleverly-named "Space Exploration" Jetfire.

I'm not sure how I feel about Megatron... I finally got myself a Classics Voyager Optimus Prime on my birthday back in July to scale with the concurrently released Voyager Megatron who's been by himself on my shelves for about seven years.

Really though, it depends on how he looks, and how well he scales with MP10. If he scales well with MP10 (which I don't have), I'll consider picking him up.

I'm hoping that 30th leader scale Megatron. Is based off the 2014 IDW Dark Cybertron Megatron comics art designs.

Confirmation of 30th Anniversary Generations Jetfire via eBay?

The listing has since been removed, but earlier this evening, we got a little sneak peek at the 30th Anniversary Jetfire figure via an eBay auction. Interestingly, the auction stated that the item was not for sale, but listed a price of $5,000.00. See pictures below, and click on over to Energon Pub to tell us what you think.

Oh I can just tell that's going to be one of those "don't bother integrating the robot mode, just stash it under the jet" figures.

The listing said it was not for sale, only for show, which is probably why the price was high.

Jetfire's jet mode, Skyfire's bot mode. Talk about identity issues. Not sure I like this, if I'm going to get a Skyfire figure I really want the jet mode to be right as well.

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS, HOLY COW, SAKES ALIVE!

I recently shelled 70-some bucks on Classics Jetfire. A cool enough display, but lacking pose/playability. Iwas hoping the listing for a leader class jetfire would be lame, so I wouldn't feel bad about getting the character again.

But, he's so cool looking that, if this is indeed the one we'll be seeing, I won't feel bad at all. :D

I'll second this. Classics Jetfire was a similar compromise, and he was so damn good that no further stab in that direction can be significantly better. If you want to give us a better likeness, pick a design and stick to it in both modes. Making it look enough like a Valk only in jet mode is a fun way to piss off Harmony Gold, but not nearly as fun as a large, official toy that actually pulls off the Skyfire design's jet mode would be.
