Leader Class Optimus: RoTF vs. DoTM.

Recently I was at my TRU where there are some DoTM Jetwing Primes still on the shelves. $100, I'm not that surprised. However, I considered buying 1, because I don't own a Leader Class Prime from Bayverse, and I think this figure is probably the greatest engineering achievement in recent TF toys history. As I was looking at the figure, I noticed that the shoulders are wider and the joints farther apart on the DoTM edition than on RoTF, I'm guessing due to accomodating the Gatling guns and the jet pack. Other than this, the gas tanks' use as a weapon, the missing blades and the abs, I didn't notice any other differences. Are there any other differences when it comes to posing and transforming these 2 editions of essentially the same figure? I'm contemplating picking up the TRU Jetwing Prime, even if I don't care for the wings. I will most likely try to sell them in the box by themselves after purchase. But the wider shoulders kinda put me off a bit, and I might get a RoTF figure instead. I would just like to know if there are any more significant differences besides the ones I noticed.

The shoulder thing is an error. On the mold the shoulders are on a set of hinges that fold into the body for Robot Mode. It's easy to miss, really.

OK, so it should fold in and be the same width as the RoTF edition?

I don't have the DOTM version yet, but if you don't want the jetpack and the gatling guns, I would pass. Those features are basically the selling point since it's a retool. Unless you want him for the DOTM-style chest and/or the transforming fuel tanks that convert into his blaster.
On the other hand, if you want him new in the box, you're probably going to pay around $100 USD for the ROTF version anyway because he's so popular (unless you're lucky to catch a great deal...I just got one on ebay for $25 from a reputable seller, and I think there are still 4 of them left). The 2010 version goes for a little less, but he has somewhat cheesy "battle damage" paint apps at the expense of some of the flames and other paint apps that were present on the ROTF version. Also, his mouth is actually sculpted on and he has the hooks instead of the swords, but mine has pretty bad quality control, so be warned.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I would think retooling the shoulders into a permanent wider configuration would completely throw off the transformation into vehicle mode, considering how tedious and complex it already is.
