heh, I just realised it's the same redeco that Prime Bumblebee got when they changed him into Hot Shot. More yellow than red this time, and that head sculpt is pretty awesome. I love the RTS Jazz but glad to see that Nightbeat is getting this mold.

I have to agree here. This just isn't a good mold. Sure he looks better in this then in Jazz's, at least in robot mode. I'm also very sad that they've aparantly stopped incorporating weapons into alt modes all together.

Well now we just see if some one does a headmaster mod for him.

I think I'll wait for Fansproject. Their Chromedome, Weirdwolf and Brainstorm are awesome.

The RTS Jazz repaint looked better.

They should've given him a different chest piece and a different weapon, preferably a chest that doesn't scrape on the ground in car mode. The chest doesn't have to look like a car front on Nightbeat It's just a yellow plate.

I guess I was spoiled by the changes between Generations Springer and Sandstorm. I look at those two and wonder why we can't get drastic retools on all the molds.

Haven't owned this mold so I don't know how good or bad it is. But I prefer this than the Jazz repaint/remold.

If you had this mold, you might feel differently.

Aesthetically, I strongly disagree. The Jazz chest/hood protrusion is too striking of a feature for my taste.

That's fair enough. I like the Jazz mold because it reminds me so much of the G1 Autobot cars, and it has great articulation and pose-ability. Looking at pics of G1 Nightbeat, I suppose the BB mold is more fitting.

The ground scraping chest and the idiotic sliding piece on the legs that never works properly and won't go back into place so it never transforms into alt mode properly... Yeah I had some buyers remorse after buying that terrible mold. I think a Fansproject release will be the way to go.

I've said it before, it needs a better gun.

The only reason I bought that Bumblebee figure at all was because I need a Hubcap for my Generations line and there's the 3rd party Hub head out now that turns that figure into him. But even before picking it up I knew that mold was a turkey.

For me, the worst part of that mold is the shoulder/arms. The articulation is poor, and it limits how you can pose him. And the feet are kinda awkward too. If I could go back in time, I would have left it on the peg.

Okay, now I'm starting to not looking forward to this figure. :-(

I'll probably buy this because it's better than the TFC Nightbeat from 2003.

That being said, without a headmaster gimmick, it's still junk waiting to be replaced.

I understand why we don't have modern headmasters at retail but I don't care. I still want them. If I have to pay Fansproject $75 a pop to get them, then so be it.

RotF Nightbeat was originally conceived as an homage to this little thief:

The original Hot Shot mold is from 2003, but the Nightbeat version is from 2008. Wow, 5 years already?

I stand corrected. Still 5 years is much longer than about half of my current collection.
