It looks good, but does not scream masterpiece, I think there are too many hallow parts. The human figures are also lacking a lot of detail, I know they are small, but the Masterpiece branding screams for more detail. I am still going to get this but I am not as excited as I should be.

I'm excited. That is Bumblebee! I'm really looking forward to this release. I do wish his arms weren't hollow and I agree that Spike needs some detail on his face, but otherwise I couldn't have asked for a better representation of G1 Bee. :)

What detail do you want, KissPlayer detail for the human figures? Trouble is, the figures are waaaaaaaay smaller than the KissPlayer figs so I wonder what detail do you expect? Even Arkeville in MP Starscream wasn't that detailed.

Speaking of, would it be possible to get a Doctor Arkeville done up similarly like both Spikes and Daniel in future Decepticon Masterpiece releases (i.e MP-11 Starscream reissue or any Seeker in general)?

I agree the lack of paint details on the human faces is a tad off-putting, but I'll just pretend they're pulling double-duty with M.A.S.K. (and I never even had any of those toys)

Unless...any chance in Hell Reprolabels could step up their game by creating the tiniest stickers ever? 'Tis the year of Grimlock, and him love challenge!

And speaking of Kiss Players, I'd rather have an MP Marissa Faireborn before an update of Dr. Arkeville. She's in much more urgent need of an upgrade in the toy department.

You and me both. This MP lineup is really starting to put a hurt on my wallet with all the must haves. Bumblebee w/exosuit, Wheeljack, Ultra Magnus, Star Saber!?
I'm craving Ironhide/Ratchet but with an MP Jazz, I could die happy.

Dr Wu manages to be able to do it, I have the good Dr's Spike and Sparkplug, loads of detail, they look as though they jumped right out of the screen. I agree about Bee not looking MP enough, he's close but nowhere near as close as his fellow MP brethren.

TFW2005 posted new photos of the prototype: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-new ... es-180603/.

I thought maybe the license plate would be a piece of magnet; but looks like you can remove the plate and tab the spare wheel instead.

Definitely no excuse to leave his forearms open. The partial roof backpack is tolerable, but I think it's physically possible to compress it. Also slightly disappointed by the shape of his pelvis. I feel like combining this with what Wheeljack's MP is doing in the same area (rather than using that alone) would work well - but it's also tolerable.

Really clever use of the back of his vehicle mode to fill out the torso, and hiding the car doors on his feet.

The hollow forearms don't look as bad in the color photos. Not at all impressed with the cheap, pos exosuit. Ditch it and drop the price down to a more reasonable $50-$60 and I would be perfectly happy. As things stand this set is just $5 cheaper than Wheeljack, the Datsuns and Sideswipe mold. Waaaay overpriced.

That square gap around the flip-up Autobot logo is hideous - why did they bother? I'd have settled for NO Autobot logo if it meant avoiding that thing

I just hope all that yellow is plastic, and not painted like all the MPs thus far. Paint will chip eventually, and if Bee does have a coat of yellow paint he is not going to survive many transformations with it all intact.

He looks pretty awesome. I don't collect MPs at the moment (although Soundwave and the Kawamori Seekers are tempting), but seeing as this little fella is roughly in vehicle scale with deluxe cars I may get him anyway. I'm willing to forgive his shortcomings as his cartoon model transformed almost entirely through animation magic- he just sort of morphed into a penny racer Beetle like a blob of Play-Doh.

Also, that smiling face is adorable.

It's been a while since we have seen anything new from MP-21 Masterpiece Bumblebee so lets take a look at the box art from a magazine scan posted by CYBERGEEKS Alliance. The image is very small but gives you a good idea of what the box will look like with the traditional Takara Tomy Masterpiece box design.
