Lately, the BH line seem to push the green on OP a lot.

There's the "Voyagerised Cyberverse":

And the big one:


Those are not Toxitron but really Optimus Primes. With green parts or completely green.
So, I know about making repaint to sell more toys, obviously, but is there a point in ANY Transformers fictions that Optimus Prime became green for some reason?

Maybe he ate some bad sushi?

Maybe it's a reference to the "M.A.S.K. Division" armored truck that Optimus scanned for his new body in Season 3 of Transformers: Prime? If I recall, the vehicle in question had a dark green hue to it from the brief moment it was on screen.

This seems the most likely reason, although the first one is a pathetic attempt at it - the green is in all the wrong places and totally the wrong green. The second is still the wrong green but in better places. The third is the right colour but the wrong shape.

Oh, and I thought OP had three heads in that last pic!

Yeah, I don't like Optimus in green.

They can mix up his primary colors, (Red, Blue, Grey) and get away with it. They can even throw him in Black and White because those or sort of neutral colors. But any other colors on him really should be kept to a minimum. It just takes him out of character too much.

Maybe the green is actually a result of Synth-En? I have noticed he gets additional weaponry when he's in green:

Battlemaster: meat cleaver
Voyagerised Commander: Swiss cheese shield
Beast Blade: Shield I wish my Thunderclash has
