If You Were Pitching New Toys for the Transformers Subscription Service...

The goal of TFSS seems to be filling gaps in collections or giving life to FunPub pet projects other potential fan favorites, so if you were pitching the designs of the series, how would you approach it? Would you attempt to send out six deluxes? Five deluxes and two scouts, as is the case this year? What figures would you use to do so?

I'm going to use TFSS 1.0 as a model, save for replacing the Voyager figure with a deluxe. Thus the set is made up of six existing Transformers toys (the non-licensed molds from the movie lines, Classics, Universe, Generations, Prime and its iterations) with an allotment of two new head molds for retooling.

Here's who I'd recommend:

1. Ser-Ket from the Beast Hunters Ripclaw mold
A straight redeco for a fan favorite, comic-only character.

2. Shattered Glass Ironhide from the Universe Ironhide mold
Shattered Glass is a bit of a divisive topic, but I've enjoyed the setting quite a bit. However, I don't want to see another boxset for these guys, preferring to leak them out in pairs every two-three years.

3. Shattered Glass Dirge from the BotCon 2007 Dirge mold
And a heroic Decepticon to pair off with the evil Autobot.

4. War For Cybertron Barricade from the PRID Wheeljack/Dead End mold; new head retooling
But wait, you cry; Barricade is already getting a Prime figure. I still want one closer to his game aesthetics, and the game model fits quite well. The Dead End mold has a close relative of the head design, so that's the pic I've gone with.

5. Gutcruncher from the Generations Warpath mold
Your requisite Action-Master.

6. Scrapper from Generations Scoop, new head retooling
This one seems like a no-brainer, especially if we can give him a different weapon to work with

Though admittedly a bit heavy on Decepticons (I was thinking of Mainframe for the Action Master, but couldn't find an alt mode I liked) this would be my pitch. Any suggestions, Seibertronians?

I LOVE your Scrapper idea! But I'd rather see it as a retail release! That would be too good to not share with the masses.

Apart from a Gobot set, This would make me happy.
Beast hunters Dreadwing as Beast wars silverbolt
A Red Transmetal Terrorsaur
Beasthunters Shockwave as Beast wars inferno (New Head)
Energon Scorponok in G1 colors
Generations Orion Pax as Thunderclash
and Generations/Classics Hound as Swindle (New Head)

some very good suggestions here, as well as a couple that I'm not sure about, but hey, that's kinda what the Club is for; covering the wide range of niches in our fandom.

Police Sunstreaker from the Classics mold could be cool. They could even have it double up as RiD Prowl, to go with Sideburn and then maybe Gen TrailThingy (or PRID or BH Ratchet?) as X-Brawn? (we're already getting Sky-Byte in the main line)

Other Diaclone colours on Classics would be quick and easy too. Black Tracks, Red Mirage, blue Bluestreak, south american BB, etc.

I still hope Battletrap (using most of Springer, but the shoulders and chest of Sandstorm) and Flywheels get made as part of the main line down the road, but I'd settle for them as exclusives. Possibly only get Flywheels though if that was the case, just down to cost.

Gen Orion Pax as Thunderclash is interesting, but I'd rather ol TC got a bigger body.

I'd still like a set of BW repaints done like the beast Pretenders. Carnivac, Catilla, Snarler, etc. Sure they'd be kinda terrible, but no-one else is touching those bots.

I know I've thought about ideas for this before, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment.

They can't use that toy.

Armada/Cybertron Red Alert from this year's BotCon Cannonball (itself a retool of Prime Ratchet)! Armada Cyclonus from Hunt for the Decepticons Tomahawk!

Seriously, I need more Unicron Trilogy homages. Hot Shot and Starscream need pals!

Classics Voyager Optimus Prime as Overload.

Seriously, he should've been the OP mold use for Botcon instead of Ginrai.

That's... actually not a bad idea. His head even looks like the big OP!

Yep. He's got so much Primus Apotheosis going on.

It is absolutely mind-boggling to me that this hasn't happened. When they first showed off that mold, I thought it was an update to Armada Cyclonus.

Fitor - Classics Ramjet
Vanguard - Universe Ironhide
Pathfinder - Generations Cosmos

Destroyer - Generations Warpath (with the head kept down)
Zod - Classics Grimlock

TFU.info doesn't allow hotlinking.

Seriously, as huge a Unicron Trilogy fan I am, I'm heavily disappointed it hasn't happened yet. Once I find time and money, I'm shipping my GDO Springer and a couple other Deluxes down to GetRightRobot for a little customizing job.

I came. I saw. I came again. :x :x :x

Guess this means I need to throw in my Fall of Cybertron Ultra Magnus and see if GRR can replicate Cheetimus's Demolishor...

Those two work on so many levels. In fact, I could see the Club pulling another bunny out of the hat with that Demolishor: Powerlinx Demolishor, repurposed as SG Demolishor.

Cheetimus should so apply as deco artist

I'd like to see Botcon set related figures largely stay out of the Subscription service.

I think it would be really cool for one or two spots within each series to be reserved for Micromaster updates using available Mini-con molds.

What about Beast Machines Terranotron? Is he not red enough?

Well, it was his Dynobot custom that inspired the Club to create their BW Uprising Dynobot design. ;)

For real? Like, they were all sitting in a meeting one day, trying to come up with what Beast Wars characters to use with recent molds, and saw Cheetimus's Dinobot, and thought to themselves, "Y'know what we should do...?"

I would love to see WFC Bumblebee with a new head turned into Glyph.
I'd also love to see WFC Cliffjumper turned into Tap-Out.
