YouTube reviewer Peaugh has posted a 1080p/full HD video review of Masterpiece Soundblaster's companion cassette, Ratbat. Thanks to the Hasbro release of Masterpiece Soundwave, many collectors have been bitten by the cassette collecting bug due to all of them being packed in with Soundwave, and Ratbat's no exception, but with him being available only with a high priced foreign repaint, he's somewhat out of reach for many. Before you go and spend the money, find out if Ratbat's as good as the previous releases and worth the dough.

I saw a review earlier and caved in just to get ratbat. There's a bidding war on e-bay for a ratbat that has reached over $100 bucks. Now Ill have 2 soundwaves on the back shelf doing absolutely nothing, but these cassettes go right to my classics shelf. I wasn't happy with the KFC ratbat mold, I needed this.

SO true. Though I think the Soundblaster deco is cool, you know that hardly anyone (outside of Japan, anyway) is buying this for him alone. I think that's why they had to include Ratbat with him and him alone, so they could sell Soundblaster.

I think Takara could sell every Ratbat they could make, maybe even in a three pack with Garboil and Howlback- they'd be easy redecos of already existing molds. Hell, even Sundor and/or Glit would be easy. Only Cassetticons it wouldn't be easy to justify would be Slugfest and Overkill since they'd need to be all new molds.

I certainly hope Hasbro puts out a US re- release of the Masterpiece Soundwave with Ratbat, either instead of or as well as Buzzsaw. I had the figure in hand, and came *this* close to buying it, but I was like "there's no Ratbat, how can he be a masterpiece without Ratbat!"

This Ratbat is supposed to be cartoon accurate?

Good review. I liked the humor. I agree with the radar dish comment. It's not the end of the world but I expected a little more there.
