That seems to be the collecting game for people on a tighter budget :-( Sometimes stuff has to be dropped due to the way retail works.
Not sure if this is a rumor, but these sets might show up in Canadian ToysRus. Seems plausible that at least the smaller ones will, most of them show up here at some point. They're still ungodly expensive, but at least you can get them.
Good luck though, I know how it can be tough finding stuff on a tight budget.

Also, seems like Stinger is an exclusive character to Walmart  They really seem to like him

or until the 5th movie is out and we get a "movie advanced 2" line.

That is generally the way it goes in this hobby. Either you have a bunch of peg warmers that no one wants or the scalpers buy up the limited stuff and sell it on ebay. That is why I do not like limited figures. Not too many other toy lines do what Hasbro does with this line. It is remarkable how you can have a mold like Bumblebee's and it will shelf warm. But if Hasbro took the same mold, colored it any other color, gave it an name from some obscure G1 character, and put it out in the collectors club or retail with a jacked up price the fan boys will buy it up. It could be a $100 figure that has a counterpart that retails at $15 and it will sell out.

I keep my collection VERY modest. I used to have thousands of dollars worth of figures. I unloaded them at a profit and I now only collect the legends line.

I agree! Look at the Dinobots, they probably have horrible paint jobs for probably this reason. "Let's give these all odd paint jobs that only kids will appreciate! The older fans who want a more movie accurate paint job will probably pay top dollar for this!"

The top link is 129$... which would cost about 99-109$ (24.99 Grimlock, 12.99 for the 3 deluxes and 34.99-50$ for Slog whose price is all over the place) ...which actually isn't too far-fetched... but it's in Hong Kong so shipping will cost like 30-50$.

I'm waiting for the 2nd link, that looks really good but I hope it won't be TOO hard to get like Nemesis Prime or Nemesis Grimlock which go for about 200$... 10x the price of the normal retail shelf warmer.

I'd rather pay for a figure in Canada than in HK, at least that won't cost me 40$ to ship to the US! If only I had a higher paying job...

BBTS will have these, they're just not allowed to put it up for pre-order yet.

As for the Nemesis repaints. BBTS already sold out of it for $110. they retailed in Japan during the show for for 5000 yen.

Well that's excellent news! ...I know... I saw the website had him for 110$ and I tried to buy it only to see the dreaded sold out sign...

well, not to split hairs but that's a repaint of one step Lockdown I think. At least when I looked at it in the store. So...not even a new mold?

No, it's a new mold. Just a similar transformation scheme. Some of the One Step Changer molds share transformations. The upcoming One Step Rollbar will have Drift's transformation.

I have to admit the colours on both Optimus and Grimlock here are pretty neat. Grimlock's colours are a nice way to envoke his actual movie colours with the grey and bronze/gold flwoing into the mold. If you got rid of the blue and green on him to replace them with more shades of gray and bronze he'd look amazing.

As for Optimus his dark blue and red look sweet on him not to mention the blue on his windshields and sword look a LOT better then the yellow on the offical release. The chrome on his chest and head look crazy but other then that I'm digging this paint scheme. If I don't end up buying the Armoured Knight version of the Optimus mold and maybe the Black Knight Grimlock repaint from Takara I'll at least consider buying this set instead since I dig the colours in this set way more then the mainline paint schemes.

As much as I really like that deco on Grimlock, I just can't justify paying that price, especially when I don't care for that mold for Optimus.

Got to admit,Hasbro has done a marvellous job painting Grimlock :APPLAUSE: .In my opinion, that Optimus does not look too bad even with all the chrome. In fact, I do like him :D .I might order it mostly for Grimlock than for Optimus.

Bounti76,

If you are not willing to pay for this set, you can also get Black Knight Grimlock from Takara. After all, Black Knight Grimlock looks almost identical to this one.

I already paid 60$ plus taxes for EACH of the REGULAR leaders. So, even if this set were to be released in Quebec (it wont because TrU are asshat) I wont pay an even more inflated price for some minimum deco differences. Grimlock look a bit more different than the Optimus, but it's not different enough to justify buying the whole set, plus paying for shipping, plus the scalper surcharge.

So, nope.

However, if you dont already own eitheir of these molds, this could be a nice set to own. As long that you are American, or non-Quebec Canadian.

PrimeUltimus, the images of the TRU Optimus Prime-Evolution set show AOE Prime with his mask, but I've read elsewhere that he doesn't have it. Does anyone know for certain? Is it possible there is a variant or "running change" with this set?

I got the set and he has *checks it out* a mouth. So no mask for Evolution Movie Prime.

P.S. Anybody have any tips for tightening up Evolution Classics Prime's shoulders??

The Platinum Edition Grimlock is amazing! I got mine from Robot Kingdom (didn't think they were gonna come out here) so there's my buyer's remorse of the day... I paid 150$... oh well! I thought about the Takara one... but the blue and silver looked better. And there was less orange.

At least now I can hope to snap the Platinum Edition Autobots United and Dinobots Unleashed!

I'm not happy with the Platinum Optimus Prime leader. It's too much chrome... not only does it wear out over time but I can see my fingerprints all over it... and it's still the same mold. But I really love the Grimlock figure, the paint is amazing and... no chrome!

The Optimus evolution pack... I would have gotten it but I am not a fan of the face mold... then again his eyes are painted instead of light piping so I'll take a look in person before I decide.... why does TRU's photo show the battle mask though...

Video Review - Age of Extinction ConstructBots Hound and Wideload

How many of you are still enjoying the ConstructBots line? Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has another review to keep you going, looking at Hound with his dino partner/armour Wideload - though he doesn't seem as positive this time round. Check it out below!

Sharing the same basic build as Lockdown, Hound in vehicle mode has more of a car look than I like and feel a military vehicle should have. I do like the build although I think younger hands will have a hard time snapping the pieces on and off the frame without stressing the plastic or pinching their fingers. Wide Load is missing something from making it an interesting partner and the armor mode is rather uninspired. I can recommend the kit only for a Constructbot die hard.
